Keiko et Lute, les dépeceurs chinois - Le récit [1/2]

A tragic incident unfolds in a Chinese family living in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, involving a babysitting arrangement that leads to a series of devastating events. Keiko, a 31-year-old nanny, struggles to make ends meet while caring for children, including two-month-old Lucas. One night, while suffering from a cold and under the influence of medication, she fails to monitor Lucas properly, resulting in his death from suffocation.

In a panic, Keiko and her husband, Luteux, decide against calling the police, fearing the repercussions of their illegal babysitting arrangement. Instead, they attempt to negotiate with Lucas's parents, who are undocumented immigrants. When the parents arrive to collect their child, a confrontation escalates into violence, leading to the deaths of both parents at the hands of Keiko, who grabs a gardening hatchet in self-defense.

Following the murders, Keiko and Luteux dismember the bodies and attempt to dispose of them in the nearby Bois de Vincennes. They bury the remains and clean their apartment in a desperate bid to cover up the crime. Just days later, Luteux flees to Shanghai, while Keiko and her young son Yino escape to China, leaving behind a trail of tragedy and unanswered questions. The story hints at deeper themes of immigrant struggles and the lengths to which individuals may go in desperate circumstances.
