Show Notes
STEPHEN SONDHEIM! ANTHONY PERKINS! JAMES COBURN! LOTS OF WICKED SCHEMES AND PLANS ON A BOAT WITH RICH PEOPLE! Yes it is a brand new episode of Cinepunx where we welcome the incredible Alonso Duralde to discuss The Last of Sheila! You should know Alonso without introduction but just in case you should check out Linoleum Knife or Maximum Film or Breakfast All Day or his many appearances on Deck The Hallmark, BUT he joined us to promote his new books Hollywood Pride: A Celebration Of LGBTQ+ Representation and Perseverance in Film. Alonso chose for us to discuss the campy and wonderful The Last of Sheila, a film co written by Stephen Sondheim and Anthony Perkins that me and Josh had never seen before!
Alonso was a perfect guest, charming and incredibly patient with our Bullshit and we cannot be thankful enough to him for joining us. I don't know that Josh and I would have found this movie on our own and I was so excited to discuss it. I also grabbed a copy of Alonso's awesome new book and I am beyond excited to read it. I found out the audio book, read by him, is also available on spotify so check that out as well. Ok thanks so much friends, check out all of Alonso's stuff so he thinks coming on our show was a good idea, word? word up.
Thanks for listening! Please spend some time checking out our Patreon and of course, check out the family of shows available at Cinepunx.com.

More from Cinepunx
You can hardly believe it but those stalwart boys of Cinepunx are back! On this explosive new episode we get into it on two classic films we should have seen already, but somehow had not: Apocalypse Now and Platoon. We specifically watched the redux edition of Apocalypse Now if that matters to you, which I had not seen before now. Despite some reservations about the style of these movies, some of the narrative decisions, and the method they were made, we were mostly blown away by these movie.
NEW EPISODE IS HERE! Join us as we explore one of the greatest directors of the 20th Century, Yasujiro Ozu by discussing his most famous film, Tokyo Story.
COME AT YAH WITH A BRAND NEW EPISODE!
BACK TOGETHER AND IT FEELS SO GOOD! Hey friends, welcome to our new episode as we check in on the cinema of today! Basically, we are working to try and record more, and I would LOVE to blame Josh but in reality scheduling has been hard for both of us. Episode is still super good, so no worries, but yes, it is a bit of a catch up so we have something to put out. Still love you though
