What reveals have you most excited? Let us know on our Discord at https://discord.gg/2dX5JqfNQ6 – [PLEASE NOTE: This episode does not follow our usual formula and is unabridged, intended to play alongside the official reveal show VOD, found on Warhammer's own channels.] Joshy, Jonny, and Zakky react to Adepticon 2026, uncut and unfiltered despite the stream's technical issues and delays. We are very excited by the announcement around Warhammer 40,000, and cannot wait to cover the next few months for the system. – TIMESTAMPS 0:00 Intro 01:33 Beginning of live stream 16:07 Actual start of the stream lmao help them 01:18:57 New 40k!! 01:42:00 Post-show discussion – Website/links: https://ttpfieldmanual.captivate.fm TTP Field Manual is brought to you by Joshy and Jonny, best friends and tabletop gaming fans from the local group Trust the Process Hobbies. Die-hard fans of tabletop gaming, we use this podcast as a platform to share our ramblings about the hobby (though we cannot shut up about Warhammer). By day, Joshy is a therapist; by night, an RPG aficionado raised on Final Fantasy and years of crafting his own Dungeons & Dragons worlds. Jonny, a technician, spends his downtime conquering more video games than Joshy can keep track of. Our occasional guest Zakky has a passion for buying things he then has to build. WAAAGH? https://discord.gg/2dX5JqfNQ6 – We've ducked and weaved through all of the end of 10th updates, the 11th edition previews and launch, and have firmly landed in codex territory. The Orks are up first. What. A. Book! 11th edition has brought many new changes to how armies are created. Picking and choosing from multiple smaller detachments allows you to really carve out your own playstyle on the Warhammer 40,000 tabletop. Orks, an absolute staple of the game since its inception, has options coming out the whazoo. With new datasheets in Nazdreg, and the Big Mek Dakkarig, to a whopping 15 of those detachments, all elements of Orks receive love in a way not really seen for some time. Want to run Grots, Bosses, and Planes? Sure. Beast Snagga's, Meks, and Bikes? Go ahead! We have absolutely adored going through this book and cannot wait for the next codex. Do you agree with our rankings? Tell us at https://discord.gg/2dX5JqfNQ6 – We're back to where it all started; we are redoing our original four episodes! Those inaugural episodes served as both an introduction to and a metrics-based review of each playable faction in Warhammer 40,000. With 11th edition landing hot and new players joining the scene, we feel it's a great time to revisit this faction breakdown format. For the final and fourth episode, we are covering the Xenos factions. Aliens! From the classic archetypes of greenskin Orks and elven "Aeldari", to cosmic horror hivemind "Tyranids" and the technologically advanced "Tau Empire", Warhammer isn't short on interesting factions to populate alongside humanity and its dark, chaotic mirrors. – This series blends matter-of-fact orientation with opinionated review. We give each of the four categories a ranking between 1-5, and an overall score out of 20. We call this the S.L.A.G. ranking. We feel these categories cover all you need to know: STYLE - the overall aesthetic and whether we feel it is fully realised. LORE - their place in the universe, how they are represented, and how they carry themselves within the epic. ACCESSIBILITY - whether the faction is easy to acquire, paint, and get going with. GAMEPLAY - how all of the above comes to life on the tabletop, whether their rules serve the faction well, and whether the faction does well both casually and competitively. – TIMESTAMPS 00:00 Intro and recapping this mini-series 02:41 Aeldari AKA Jedi Elves 19:39 Drukhari AKA Sith Elves 31:01 Genestealer Cults-- ah! Vote for the next book on our Discord: https://discord.gg/2dX5JqfNQ6 – This episode features our BOOK CLUB pick for August/September: "The Emperor's Gift", by Aaron Dembski-Bowden, with audiobook performance by Christopher Kent. BOOK CLUB is a monthly-ish series intended to be more relaxed and casual; more a discussion than a review. "The Emperor's Gift" follows a young Grey Knight, those secret Space Marine warriors of psychic prowess keen against the Daemons of the Warp, and how he, Hyperion, and his squad are caught up in Khorne's "First War for Armageddon", alongside the Space Wolves and Inquisition. There will be spoilers. October's book club will be a classic: Frank Herbert's DUNE. 'Nuff said.
