I'm 48 And Aging Gracefully Is BS

I'd Like To Thank Myself

Show Notes

I'm 48 and I'm done aging gracefully. I think the whole concept is just a nice way of telling women to disappear, and I'm done pretending we're aging well by being told to fade. The most honest conversation about anti-aging and what it means to stay hot AF after 40. At seven years old, on a two-lane road in Appalachia, I watched a group of women laugh at a stranger in red lipstick because she didn't know she was supposed to “age gracefully." I'm 48 now, and I've spent 40 years wondering why nobody on that dirt road said something. Why nobody is the spokesperson for women who refuse to fade. So I'm doing it now. This episode is for the woman in the back who's been clapping politely for a decade while everyone around her disappeared quietly.

In this episode: Why "aging gracefully" is just a nice way to tell women to disappear The dirt road in Appalachia where I learned the rule at seven (and why I'm still on her side) Why most meanness is just fear in nicer clothes What refusing actually costs me… the friends, the time, the Olympic-sport routine The "for her age" comment in a coffee shop that I should have corrected (and didn't) The years I dressed down on purpose… and why that wasn't grace, it was hiding Why wrinkles aren't badges. They're salt on a wound. The bigger, louder, more audacious life I'm refusing to age gracefully FOR

I'm 49, and these are the 10 things I actually do that make me look and feel hot AF after 40. Some of them are about my skin, my clothes, and my heels. The one that made the biggest difference has nothing to do with Botox, filler, treatments, or anything I can buy. Want Your Free Personalized Hot AF Plan? Take the quiz Join The Vanity Club. Under-eye filler was the wrong fix for almost everything I was actually trying to fix, and I found that out after years and a stupid amount of money spent on my own face. What most people call under-eye aging is really five completely different problems, hollowing, darkness, crepey skin, fine lines, and true bags, and filler is only built for one of them. This is exactly what I do instead now, and how to figure out which under-eye problem is actually yours before you spend a dollar. Things I Mentioned: Rewritten Show The Face Up serum My eye retinol My peptide eye cream My at-home radiofrequency device

If I had to start over at 40, knowing everything I know now after spending $1.3 million on beauty, these are the ten things I'd do first, in the order that actually works. This is the anti-aging roadmap for women over 40 I wish someone had handed me, and no, Botox isn't one of them.
