Off The Rush - Trevor Linden Interview Breakdown, KDs Headlines & World Series Preview & Bets (10-22-26) (HR-2)
Off The RushSummary
Trevor Linden, a legendary figure in Vancouver Canucks history, reflects on his time with the team during a recent interview. He emphasizes that the term "rebuild" was avoided during his tenure as president, as ownership was reluctant to acknowledge the team's struggles. Linden notes that the organization was in a difficult position, with aging veterans and a lack of prospects, which hindered their ability to compete effectively. He expresses frustration over the lack of trust and alignment with the management team at the time, particularly with General Manager Jim Benning.
The discussion shifts to the current state of the Canucks, with hosts expressing hope that the new leadership under the Sedins will lead to a more cohesive rebuilding effort. They highlight the importance of effort and competitiveness in the team's performance, especially after a disappointing loss to the Detroit Red Wings. The conversation underscores the need for the Canucks to establish a strong identity and commitment to improvement as they navigate through this rebuilding phase. Fans are eager for a turnaround, and the hosts stress that while wins may not be the immediate goal, consistent effort is crucial for the team's future success.
