35. Come, Follow Me August 24–30 | Psalms 49–51; 61–66; 69–72; 77–78; 85–86 | “When My Heart Is Overwhelmed” Well mamas… I HAD THE BABIES! 🩷💙 This week's episode is a day late because what started as contractions on Sunday afternoon turned into a trip to the hospital—and we came home with TWO babies in our arms! And honestly, I couldn't think of a more fitting scripture for this season:
“When my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” — Psalm 61:2
Motherhood can be overwhelming. We worry about our babies, our teenagers, our marriages, finances, health, our mistakes, and whether we're doing enough. But maybe faith isn't about becoming so strong that we're never overwhelmed. Maybe it's about becoming so familiar with Christ that when we are overwhelmed, we know exactly where to go. In this week's Come, Follow Me Moms episode, we're digging into some of the most powerful Psalms for motherhood. We talk about:
❤️ What to do when your heart is overwhelmed
🙏 Why we can pour out our whole heart to God
❤️🩹 Why struggling doesn't mean you're failing spiritually
✨ Mom guilt, repentance, and beginning again
🩷 Teaching our children repentance by letting them watch us apologize and change
❤️ Elder Peter F. Meurs's powerful message “He Could Heal Me!”
✨ President Russell M. Nelson's teachings on repentance and becoming better through Christ
🙏 What to do when God feels far away
🧠 Why remembering what God has done before can strengthen our faith now
👩👧👦 Why moms are the rememberers in our homes
📖 Teaching our children God's stories AND telling them our own stories of faith
❤️ “I will declare what He hath done for my soul”
Scriptures discussed Psalm 51:10, 12 — “Create in me a clean heart, O God.” Psalm 61:2–3 — “When my heart is overwhelmed…” Psalm 62:8 — “Pour out your heart before him.” Psalm 66:16 — “I will declare what he hath done for my soul.” Psalm 69:1–3 — Turning to God when we feel like we're drowning. Psalm 77:11 — “I will remember the works of the Lord.” Psalm 78:4–7 — Teaching the next generation so they will “set their hope in God.” Psalm 86:5 — The Lord is “good, and ready to forgive.” Talks mentioned President Russell M. Nelson — “We Can Do Better and Be Better” Elder Peter F. Meurs — “He Could Heal Me!” This week's invitation ❤️ Ask yourself: What has God done for my soul? Think of ONE story—an answered prayer, a miracle, a prompting, a time He carried you, forgave you, or gave you strength. Then tell your children. It doesn't have to be a formal Come, Follow Me lesson. Tell them at dinner, in the car, or while you're putting them to bed: “Did I ever tell you about the time Heavenly Father helped me when…?” Because maybe motherhood isn't about raising children who never struggle. Maybe we're raising children who know where to turn when they do. When their hearts are overwhelmed — go to the Rock. When they mess up — go to Christ. When God feels far away — remember. And when they see His hand — declare what He hath done for their souls. ❤️ #ComeFollowMe #ComeFollowMeMoms #LDSMom #LDSMoms #Psalms #ScriptureStudy #BibleStudy #ChristianMom #Motherhood #JesusChrist

Episode 41: He Hath Borne Our Griefs & Carried Our Sorrows | Isaiah 50–57 + General Conference This week on Come, Follow Me Moms, we’re studying Isaiah and talking about some of my favorite messages from General Conference! Isaiah teaches us something every overwhelmed, exhausted, worried mama needs to hear: You were never meant to carry everything alone. Isaiah prophesied of Jesus Christ as “a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief.” He didn't just come to save us from our sins—He came to bear our griefs and carry our sorrows. He understands the worry, loneliness, exhaustion, heartbreak, mom guilt, and seasons when life looks completely different than we thought it would. Pasted markdown Sometimes we pray for God to take the hard thing away, but instead He says, “I'm going to walk through it with you.” In this episode we talk about:
Fear Not: You Have Not Been Forgotten | Isaiah 40–49 + General Conference Prep This week on Come, Follow Me Moms, we’re studying Isaiah 40–49 and preparing our hearts and our homes for General Conference. And moms, if there is one message I hope you take away from these chapters, it’s this: God knows you. God has not forgotten you. God will strengthen you. God will lead you. And when what you’re carrying feels too heavy—He will carry you. Isaiah begins with the word comfort, and these chapters are filled with reminders for anyone who feels tired, overwhelmed, afraid, lost, or unsure of what comes next. We talk about:
Come, Follow Me Moms | September 21–27 Isaiah 13–14; 22; 24–30; 35 “A Marvellous Work and a Wonder” What if the things that feel broken in your life aren’t actually finished? This week in Isaiah, we see warnings about pride, worldliness, and turning away from God—but we also see an incredible message of hope, healing, and restoration through Jesus Christ. Isaiah describes broken walls, barren ground, heavy burdens, wandering people, and things that seem beyond repair. But that isn’t where the story ends. He also describes the wilderness blooming, the blind seeing, the deaf hearing, sorrow disappearing, and God’s people being restored. In this episode, we’re talking about what all of that means for us as moms. We’ll dive into:
