When God Changes Everything

Revival is presented as a continuous necessity in the lives of believers, not limited to special events but as a daily renewal through interaction with God. Dr. David Jeremiah emphasizes the importance of regular spiritual engagement, urging listeners to prioritize church attendance and personal revival. He highlights the biblical account of Nineveh, where the people responded to Jonah's message with belief and repentance, illustrating how genuine revival can transform lives and communities.

Jeremiah discusses the powerful impact of God's Word, asserting that it never returns void and always effects change, even if the results are not immediately visible. He contrasts mere belief about God with true belief in God, using the example of the tightrope walker Charles Blondin to illustrate the difference between acknowledging God's existence and placing complete trust in Him. The sermon underscores that revival requires hearing, believing, repenting, praying, and hoping, with the Ninevites exemplifying these principles through their collective response to Jonah's warning.

The episode concludes with a call to action for personal revival, encouraging listeners to pray for renewal in their hearts and to live lives marked by holiness. Jeremiah expresses hope that a revival could occur in contemporary society, drawing parallels to historical revivals that transformed communities. He invites listeners to seek God's mercy and to be agents of change in their own lives and surroundings, emphasizing that revival is not confined to the past but remains a possibility for the present and future.

Could another great spiritual awakening happen today? This message argues that believers cannot manufacture revival, but they can pray for it and practice it personally. The call begins not with “Lord, revive them,” but with the much more personal prayer: “Lord, revive me.”
