Soundgarden's Mount Rushmore Songs

State of Love & Trust Podcast

Show Notes

Jason and Paul welcome Metal Allegiance bassist and King Ultramega founder Mark Menghi back to the show to discuss their selections for tentpole Soundgarden songs -- the five songs that defined their legacy. Obviously narrowing it down to five was incredibly difficult. We also talk about the latest King Ultramega drop "The Day I Tried To Live" featuring Arch Enemy's Alissa White-Gluz on vocals and Soundgarden's Kim Thayil on guitar. It's a celebration as Soundgarden is inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Jason and Paul return to the Ohana Storytellers stage in 2026 for not one...but two conversations. This epiosde focuses on the chat with Pearl Jam's Mike McCready and graphic novelist Mark Sable. Mike's new book Farewell to Seasons is a love letter and re-writing of the Seattle music scene of the 80s and 90s. It's an incredible book that allows Mike to properly grieve his losses and find peace, and some closure, through the process. Jason and Paul celebrate 17 years of Pearl Jam's Backspacer with a Retro Review. The shortest album in Pearl Jam's career, Backspacer is often overlooked by fans yet provided one of the band's biggest hits in Just Breathe. However, there is plenty of great rock surrounding it. So is it underrated? Hmm... Buy Pod Merch Become a Patron Watch Us on YouTube Follow Us on Instagram Follow Us on Facebook Follow us on X
