S3:E30 - How loyalty can walk you out of God's will

Armed & Anointed with Ashley Russell

Show Notes

In this episode, Ashley discussed how loyalty can prevent people from following God's will, sharing her personal experiences with this struggle. She explained that loyalty from a place of fear or wounds can mask disalignment with God's plan, using the example of Abraham leaving his home without knowing where he was going by faith. Ashley described how she had to make difficult decisions, including stepping away from her successful network marketing business despite the guilt and potential repercussions with team members. She emphasized the importance of being loyal to God's calling rather than staying committed to circumstances, environments, or people that no longer align with one's spiritual path. Ashley encouraged listeners to examine what they might be loyal to that keeps them out of God's will and to focus on holding tightly to God's vision while remaining flexible with the plan of how it unfolds.

In this episode of the Armed & Anointed podcast, Ashley focuses on the importance of adopting a new belief system after becoming a "new creation" in Christ. She discussed how many Christians continue living by old patterns and beliefs despite being born again, emphasizing that true transformation requires changing both mindset and behavior. Ashley shared personal examples of how she overcame old belief systems about stress and opportunity, explaining that faith must be directed toward what God is doing new rather than focusing on past experiences. She outlined three foundational elements for choosing a new belief system: spending time in Scripture, developing a consistent prayer life, and surrounding oneself with a supportive faith community. Ashley also described the stages of spiritual maturity from being a child (getting right with God) to waging spiritual warfare against opposition to achieving intimacy with God. The episode concluded with tactical steps for belief system change including awareness, disruption, redirection, and repetition, with practical suggestions for using Scripture and declarations to integrate new beliefs.
