Show Notes

Are you the type of person who pretty much always feels the need to work hard at everything that you do? Maybe you've even been called an overachiever? If so, then you're likely going to relate to my guest today, Sahil Bloom. Sahil is an investor who runs a VC fund, and we talk today about what makes him tick. He discusses his training regime, his system behind parenting and his marriage, and so much more! Tune in as Sahil reflects on the time that he failed to make the grand slam that would have won his team the game and how that led to him taking a summer off. He shares what he learned from taking that time off, how he feels about people's need to define themselves and/or what they do, why he makes an effort to reject being called a VC, what he learned from both of his parents, what being a new father has been like for him, and so much more. He also answers some rapid-fire questions such as the best prank that he ever pulled on someone, what movie last got him emotional, what advice he gives others that he most struggles to follow himself, and more! This is one of my favorite conversations that I have had on this podcast. I really admire Sahil because of how deeply he thinks about every single aspect of his life and because of how he puts his all into everything that he does. I thank you for listening to this interview with Sahil and strongly encourage you to check out his newsletter on his website! If you enjoy this episode and want to hear more, please be sure to subscribe to the podcast so that, in the future, whenever a new episode comes out, you don't miss it! In this fun episode of the show, I had the amazing privilege of interviewing a long-time friend and extraordinary individual, Dale Stark! From his journey of being a near high school dropout to becoming a celebrated U.S. Air Force pilot, Dale's story is a testament to determination, resilience, and pursuit of one's dreams. Listen in as we discuss the mindset that propelled Dale to reach the pinnacle of the military hierarchy and then his impressive transition from fighting in the skies to peacefully taming fields - his current role as a dedicated cattle rancher-conservationist. We also delve deeper into Dale’s life, exploring how he found his way back to his roots, reminiscing about teenage buddies while drawing contentment from the challenge of his newfound path. We chat about various topics such as ranching, taming the wilderness, and sustainable living, and Dale's powerful and inspiring narrative compels us to question the norm, upend societal expectations dramatically, and genuinely pursue happiness. What is up, my friends? Today, I am discussing a common struggle many of us face: sleepless nights. I recently helped a client transform his life by revolutionizing his sleep routine, and the changes were nothing short of astounding. We explored a simple yet powerful approach I call the 3-to-1 method for better sleep. This method focuses on creating effective systems rather than fixating on outcomes, ensuring sustainable results. My client, a chronic night owl, used to hit his pillow at around 2 a.m. only to be rudely awakened at 6 a.m. due to his responsibilities, but with a combination of small tweaks, we managed to shift his schedule. By stopping food intake three hours before bedtime, avoiding liquids two hours prior, and donning blue light blockers an hour before, he found himself peacefully asleep by 10 p.m., waking up refreshed at 6 a.m. These changes weren't just about adding hours to his slumber; they led to an incredible surge in his energy levels, transforming his daily life. I hope that you will join me today as I unpack this game-changing 3-to-1 method. It's not just about getting more sleep; it's about creating a sustainable system that can revolutionize your energy, focus, and overall well-being! With three simple steps, better sleep awaits you!
