I'm brought back "Cottage Cocktails"! I haven't posted a Cottage Cocktails mix since 2019, but after djing an amazing cottage tent wedding last summer, I was inspired to record a cocktail mix that would be the perfect soundtrack for that cottage setting (but the couple that weekend had their own plans for cocktail music) so the following weekend I recorded this during cocktails at a wedding downtown Toronto. Recorded in the big city, but this is meant to be listened to up in Muskoka, or at the very least while floating in a pool, or perhaps just sitting around a backyard bonfire (or sipping on a coffee or tea in your favourite comfy chair). Perfect laid back vibes as we say goodbye to summer and hello to sweater weather. Hope you enjoy!

The final instalment of the 2025 Cottage Mix Series! This is a very special one (and not just because it's the last mix before The Soul Shack turns 20!) - earlier in the year I was at my STK residency and thought it would be cool to use part of the night to make a short recording of all 80's retro remixes. I thought at best, I could maybe make an hour long mix before having to change it up out of 80's remixes...but that didn't happen. Instead, the people there that night were appreciating it, and coming up to me and asking for other 80's artists so I just kept going...and just like that, we got this timeless 3hr mix of remixed 80's classics! The Cottage Mix Series continues! Moving along the flow of a cottage weekend, we're now at the Sunday Morning edition! This was actually recorded during cocktails/dinner at a wedding earlier this summer, where the couple's musical tastes made it the perfect opportunity to record this mix! Sad that summer is over, but hopefully the summer weather continues a little longer, and hopefully you'll enjoy this laidback mix. (and if you do, please share and repost for others to enjoy too!)

The Cottage Mix Series continues! Moving along the flow of a cottage weekend, we're going from the Friday Night Edition last month to the Saturday Afternoon Edition this month! This was recorded at a Corporate Cocktail event back at the beginning of June, and the fresh arrival of summer weather definitely influenced the musical selections, making the recording perfect for the "fun in the sun" vibe of the Saturday Afternoon Edition!
The Cottage Mix Series was back in full swing for 2025! For the Canada Day long weekend we're starting with the Friday Night Edition (same as in 2023, it's a live recording from a "Retro Attic" weekly event I filled in for, so nothing newer than 10yrs old). I've got a Saturday Afternoon edition recorded at a corporate and a Saturday night edition recorded at the RCYC season launch and just last night I recorded a "Retro 80's edition" of a Summer Home In Mykonos, so I just need to decide what mix to use for a Sunday Morning edition!
