The Nikki Glaser Podcast

Show Notes

Hey Besties, we’re only dropping one episode this week, but we’ll be back with two next week. Have an amazing Thanksgiving—we’re so thankful to have you as part of the Bestie fam! Nikki’s hanging with Brian in her home studio, and they’re chatting about their upcoming shoot for Prime’s Thursday Night Football and Nikki’s writers' room which is filled with all the right enneagrams. While discussing art and creativity, Nikki shares that she can’t relate to some artists' need for expression—or lack thereof. Then, they dive into one of Nikki’s fave quizzes, the NY Times Regional Dialect Test, and answer it. They end up with a way better result than the Akinator (side note: the answer to that quiz was Cara Delevingne, who interviewed Nikki for Interview—cool, right?). In the Final Thought, Brian gives an honest review of Wicked, AND everyone is screaming over the latest shout out Nikki got. Nikki really vibed with being in Canada this weekend and had a blast with her audience. Her shows in Hartford, CT, were emotional, finding out her dog Goldie went missing that morning. But don’t worry, it’s a happy ending! Sean and Emily, who were there for the whole thing, helped Nikki retell how she found out her pup was back in the middle of her performance. The Nikki Glaser Podcast also dropped a huge announcement that could take the Besties on an emotional ride, but Nikki did what she does best: showing her vulnerable side while adding her humor to a big life change. And Brian, Noa, Sean, and Emily are all super supportive and excited for her! . You know you're in a serious relationship when you're talking finances with your partner right before buying a house. While Nikki’s figuring that out, Brian’s talking about trying to open a safe deposit box at the bank. Sean got into trouble for laminating his social security card when he was 17. Nikki recently watched Mr. McMahon on Netflix and now wonders if people lose their empathy when they get rich. Nikki’s all about setting boundaries, and Brian’s a straight shooter. They spill the tea on the dynamics of their writers' room and share some of their favorite moments working on the Globes. For The Final Thought, Nikki hopes her fame is enough currency for her nephews and niece at school. They’re also curious what compliment would actually land with Sean, and Nikki’s hoping the phrase 'Get Out of My Elevator!' becomes a thing. Getting stuck at the airport isn't that bad when you’re running on zero sleep. Nikki's just trying to catch up after a crazy weekend. Sean actually loves the hustle and bustle of airports—kinda gives him that New York vibe. Nikki's low-key worried she’s gonna get hit by a zombie car in her neighborhood if she doesn’t get some sleep soon. But honestly, hearing Adam Sandler roll with Nikki’s joke during the Oscars was SO worth being up for 48 hours. Another highlight from this action packed weekend? Nikki got inducted into her high school’s Hall of Fame. And she got to be on Live with Kelly & Mark the morning after the Oscars. Iconic. . Nikki absolutely adores her team, and they’re so grateful for the gift she gave them for their work on the Golden Globes. Looking back on her tour, Nikki honestly never imagined she’d be where she is now. Oh, and there are a couple more restaurant pet peeves from yesterday that still need to be addressed. Sean and Brian weigh in on what they’d do if they accidentally sent a mean text about someone to that person. They also talk about how the pandemic impacted so many years of their lives. Noa points out where Nikki’s name has been popping up lately. In the Final Thought, Nikki asks what advice everyone would give their 13-year-old selves that they'd actually listen to. Nikki has noticed that Sean is calmer on planes. Could it be that the chill pill is working? She had plans to rap on her birthday, but now she’s kinda doubting her progress on "Rap God." Brian had a dream about making some big argument on Fox News about DOGE. Nikki’s super curious about everyone’s food noises and habits. They’re all obsessed with Timothée Chalamet’s SAG speech. Tbh, sometimes comedy just doesn’t age well, and apparently neither do FAA rules. In the Final Thought, they chat about the infamous 72-hour hummus.
