Show Notes

Melissa Errico is a Tony Award-nominated Broadway star, celebrated concert and recording artist, and writer whose career spans musical theatre and beyond.

Melissa made her professional debut as Cosette in Les Misérables on the US national tour, before making her Broadway debut in Anna Karenina. Her Broadway credits include Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, Tracy Lord in High Society, Isabelle in Amour, Mina Murray in Dracula and Betty Haynes in White Christmas. Her performance in Amour, the only Broadway musical by legendary composer Michel Legrand, earned her a Tony Award nomination. Beyond Broadway, she has performed in Sunday in the Park with George at the Kennedy Center, Passion at Classic Stage Company and Do I Hear a Waltz? with New York City Center Encores!

Alongside her stage career, Melissa has become one of the leading interpreters of the music of Stephen Sondheim and Michel Legrand. Her acclaimed recordings include Sondheim Sublime, Sondheim in the City and Legrand Affair, which she made in collaboration with Legrand himself. Her extensive concert career has taken her around the world, and she is also an accomplished writer whose essays have appeared in The New York Times.

In this episode, Melissa reflects on her remarkable career, the composers and collaborators who have shaped her artistry, and the different ways she approaches storytelling through theatre, concerts and recordings... as well as her love for London!
