Survivors of toxic and abusive relationships often feel isolated and hopeless, but God calls us to be His hands of compassion and rescue. In this special episode of Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, created as part of the third edition of Podcasthon, Amy Lynn spotlights STARNetwork. From Saturday, March 15, to Friday, March 21, over a thousand podcasts are highlighting charities of their choice, and Amy Lynn is honored to share the mission of STARNetwork. Originally known as TAR Network (Toxic Abusive Relationships), the organization transitioned to STARNetwork to emphasize that those who escape are not just victims, they are survivors and stars.
In this installment of Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, Amy shares her own deeply personal journey. Between 2020 and 2023, she navigated a toxic, abusive relationship with a narcissist while also working for him. When the relationship ended, the masks came off, and he attempted to maintain control by twisting her words and reacting to everything she posted, including her work on this very podcast. It was the simple, point blank resources shared by STARNetwork that helped Amy Lynn realize exactly what was happening and how to deal with it. This episode serves as a reminder that if you are in an abusive situation, you are not alone, and there is a community of survivors ready to support you.
The great thing about technology is that it makes giving to charity much easier than it was thirty years ago. In this episode of Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, we explore how digital platforms allow us to turn compassion into action instantly. Inspired by Proverbs 19:17, we know that whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will repay him for his deed. We discuss practical faith and tech ways to give, including Annikas Work From Home Pinterest charity board, which offers free ways to donate by simply performing a search, donating your voice, or clicking a button. Supporting STARNetwork through giving, praying, or spreading awareness on social media becomes a lifeline for those escaping abuse.
By tuning into Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, you will discover that faith is woven into the very act of giving and standing up for the broken. You cannot pour from an empty cup, and you certainly cannot jump-start someone else's life if your own battery is completely dead. Even Jesus, the Son of God, modeled the vital necessity for rest and withdrawal. In Luke 5:16, we see that He often withdrew to lonely places to pray, protecting His physical, emotional, and mental limits despite the massive needs of the crowds around Him. In this restorative and essential episode of Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, Amy Lynn reminds us that if the Savior needed to recharge, we certainly do not get a pass. In this installment of Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, we explore how to treat self care not as a selfish luxury, but as a mandatory act of spiritual stewardship.
Have you ever looked at a task so massive that you felt completely paralyzed before you even started? Last weekend, Amy Lynn stared at a yard buried in a sea of yellow leaves with only a few days to get them to the curb for pickup. The job felt impossible and the burden felt crushing until a simple email arrived from a neighbor with an offer to help. Even though that neighbor ultimately couldn't make it, the second those words were read, something shifted deep inside. In this heartfelt and relatable episode of Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, we explore how the mere offer of help can transform our perspective from being overwhelmed to being empowered. The work did not disappear, but it stopped being a weight that could crush her because she knew she was no longer alone.
Have you ever found yourself staring at the blinking cursor after typing a professional Best regards and wondered if there is a better way to end an email? In this helpful and encouraging episode of Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, Amy Lynn explores how the final line of your email is actually prime real estate for a quiet but powerful testimony. From school updates and work emails to LinkedIn notes and neighborly texts, every sign off is a tiny postcard from your heart to the world.
In a world bombarded by constant noise from blaring car alarms and leaf blowers to the rattling of fireworks and the roar of helicopters peace can often feel impossible to find. In this deeply personal and vulnerable episode of Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, Amy Lynn opens up about her daily life with hyperacusis. This extreme sensitivity to sound turns everyday noises into overwhelming challenges, yet it also acts as a hidden superpower that sharpens her professional audio work. In this installment of Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, we explore the hidden toll of noise pollution and how it affects our sleep, our anxiety levels, and even the world around us.
We have all experienced that sudden surge of heat when a comment online makes our blood boil and our fingers start flying across the screen with the perfect, stinging comeback. In that moment, we feel like keyboard warriors fighting for the truth, but in this timely and convicting episode of Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, Amy Lynn reminds us that Jesus has another name for that behavior: sin. Behind every screen and every avatar is a real person made in the image of God, regardless of their opinions or their tone. In this installment of Faith and Tech Bytes with Amy Lynn, we explore how to drop the keyboard and pick up the cross, choosing grace over a digital takedown.
