PelviCon - a conference by and for pelvic rehab. Join me as I chat to the co-founders of this one of a kind conference held each September in Atlanta Georgia. What is so special about it? Why should we be interested in it if we don't live in the US? The in- person tickets sold out in 4 minutes for this year ...that is NOT a typo, I said 4 minutes! Tickets are still available to attend virtually in real time which also gives you lifetime access to the recordings if, like me , you live in a time zone that means it will be the middle of the night. I was honoured to be an invited speaker last year and can tell you it is definitely one to register for Not your averge conference. Over 2 days speakers give 2 x 45 min talks which allows for a deep dive into their topic. They are requested to make presenations clinically applicable. In other words - information you can take back to your clinic and use on Monday morning. This years line up : Taryn Hallam (Australia) Paul Hodges (Australia) Michelle Lyons (Ireland) Sinéad Dufour (Canada) Gráinne Donnelly (Nth Ireland) Amy Stein (USA) Kathryn Sylvester (USA) Presneation topics and all other information are available on the PelviCon Official Instagram and PelviCon website Link for virtual tickets: https://www.pelvicon.com/live-virtual (disclosure this is NOT an affiliate link, I just think this is a great conference that will change your practice) Follow PelviCon, Nicole and Jessica on Instagram: @pelvicon_official Nicole: @nicolecozeandpt Jessica: @jessrealept

In this episode episode meet Gráinne Donnelly, a pelvic health physiotherapist from Northern Ireland, and learn how she came to be editing the upcoming book "Sports Medicine and the Pelvic Floor Science to Practice" scheduled for release on April 1st 2026. We discuss how it nearly didn't happen due to a rogue email in her junk mail ! Gráinne's experience as the editor of the POGP Journal set her up well to take on the challenges of editing a book. The book brings together leading experts from all over the world covering topics ranging from evolutionary perspectives to clinical applications. Our discussion highlights how pelvic health research and clinical practices have evolved, particularly regarding exercise and loading protocols for the pelvic floor as well as returning to exercise following pregnancy and birth. Gráinne hopes that the book will raise awareness among athletes, coaches, and healthcare providers about pelvic health issues faced by athletes whether they be elite level or recreational exercisers. Gráinne Donnelly is an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist and doctoral researcher from N. Ireland. She is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy and the Editor of a new scientific textbook titled Sports Medicine and the Pelvic Floor - Science to Practice. In this episode hear how being a visual learner led to MJForget to draw diagrams for her own learning and the pathway to the brilliant idea of turning them into a foldable laminated model to allow clinicians and patients a better understanding of their pelvic floor muscles which are now used world wide in our clinics and hospitals to educate clinicians and patients on the anatomy of their pelvic floor. We discuss the pelvic floor and how these models can help in many settings. These are the original models, now sold across the world. In Australia you can buy them from:pelvicfloorexercise.com.au or outside Australia direct from her online store www.totalpelvichealth.ca She is also happy to discuss use of images if youcontact her for permission.
