The Son of Man // The Call of Levi [Luke 5:27-32] (Andrew Linton)

Hukanui Bible Church

Show Notes

Andrew Linton recounts a shocking team selection that mirrors Christ’s call to the most unlikely follower.

Andrew Linton walks us through the message of Levi’s dramatic encounter with Jesus, reminding us that we too were not chosen for our merit but by sheer grace. As we consider Levi the despised tax collector, we see how easily we slip into pride and performance like the Pharisees, measuring ourselves by externals rather than by repentance and relationship. Andrew urges us to recognise our need of the great Physician, to turn with contrite hearts, and to follow wholeheartedly, knowing that Christ seeks the sick, restores the outcast, and calls us into a life-changing relationship marked by mercy rather than mere sacrifice.

Recorded at the Hukanui Bible Church morning service on Sunday the 22nd of February 2026 during the 10:00 am service.
