3AW Breakfast with Ross Stevenson & Russel Howcroft - Wed 28 Oct, 2026

A recent discussion highlights the challenges facing Victoria's business environment, as a report names the state the worst place to do business in Australia. Tim Piper, the Victorian head of the Australian Industry Group, expresses bemusement at the timing of this revelation, just a month before the election, suggesting that businesses have felt unsupported for years. He emphasizes the need for a comprehensive transport plan to facilitate growth and improve business conditions.

In a lighter segment, the hosts engage in a humorous exploration of Australian wildlife trivia, specifically regarding the presence of koalas across the states. They conclude that koalas are not found in Tasmania or Western Australia, sparking a lively debate about the quirks of Australian fauna.

The conversation also touches on the recent tragic events in Melbourne, including a shooting in Reservoir and the ongoing search for a missing woman, Janet. Police urge locals to check their CCTV footage for any leads.

Finally, the hosts discuss the upcoming visit of Meghan Markle and speculate on how she might adapt to life in Melbourne, suggesting she could explore local culture and cuisine while navigating the city's public transport system.
