Show Notes
Dr. Shan Shan Jing is a Consultant Plastic and Hand Surgeon working in a Major Trauma Centre in London, where she has spent years treating patients with devastating injuries, restoring nerves, vessels, and soft tissues after life-altering trauma.
In 2022, while working abroad during the pandemic, she experienced trauma from the other side when she survived a high-speed collision that killed her partner and left her hospitalized with multiple injuries. Her recovery involved navigating profound grief, neurological healing, and the identity shift of becoming a trauma patient within the very healthcare system she had dedicated her career to serving.
This experience transformed her understanding of post-traumatic growth, the nervous system’s response to catastrophic loss, and the hidden burdens carried by healthcare professionals, deepening her belief in what she calls the “Holy Trinity” of health: the physical, psychological, and spiritual dimensions of healing.
