Targeted for Assassination: Congressman Keith Self on Radical Islam and a Free America

Does going to church affect how people view the Jewish people? And what might the answer tell us about the Church today? In this episode of The Wine Press, I discuss a Christian Post article examining the relationship between church attendance and antisemitism. This conversation follows my recent teaching on the history of Jew hatred in the Church, bringing that difficult history into a discussion of Christian attitudes today. How should we understand these findings? What can they tell us—and what can’t they tell us? And how can our churches help believers recognize and reject hatred toward the Jewish people? As followers of Jesus, we must be willing to examine our history, our teaching, and our own hearts.📖 BOOKSExplore Joel’s newest book and other biblical resources:https://store.joelstrumpet.com/🌍 BIBLICAL TOURSLearn more about Joel’s upcoming biblical tours:https://livingpassages.com/🤝 SUPPORT THIS MINISTRYIf these teachings help you grow in your faith, prayerfully consider becoming a monthly supporter. Why is billionaire technology investor Peter Thiel warning about the Antichrist—and how does his interpretation compare with Scripture? In this episode of The Wine Press, Joel Richardson examines the ideas behind Thiel’s Antichrist lectures, including his warning that fear of global catastrophe could lead humanity to exchange freedom for the promise of peace and safety. We explore his views on artificial intelligence, world government, and the “restrainer” in 2 Thessalonians 2, along with the questions these lectures raise for Christians drawn to his political and theological vision. Is Scripture shaping our politics—or are our politics shaping how we read Scripture? As conversations about the Antichrist move from churches into the circles of Silicon Valley and political power, Christians need biblical discernment. Paul warned Gentile believers: “Do not be arrogant toward the branches.” What happened when the Church ignored him?In this teaching, Joel Richardson examines replacement theology—the belief that the Church has superseded Israel—and traces how claims of God’s rejection of the Jewish people helped justify centuries of contempt, exclusion, and violence. From the early Church through medieval Christendom and Martin Luther’s anti-Jewish writings, we confront a painful history and ask what Christians today must learn from it.Not everyone who holds replacement theology hates Jews. But we must honestly examine what happens when theology gives people permission to despise those whom Paul calls “beloved for the sake of the fathers.”Through Romans 9–11 and God’s covenant promises, Joel calls the Church back to humility, repentance, love for the Jewish people, and faithful witness to Jesus, Israel’s Messiah. We do not honor Israel by denying the gospel, and we do not honor the gospel by denying God’s irrevocable calling upon Israel.📖 BOOKSExplore Joel’s newest book and other resources:https://store.joelstrumpet.com/🌍 BIBLICAL TOURSLearn more about Joel’s upcoming biblical tours:https://livingpassages.com/🤝 SUPPORT THIS MINISTRYIf these teachings help you grow in your faith, prayerfully consider becoming a monthly supporter. Ben Shapiro’s comments about the seven Noahide laws have sparked a wave of outrage and anti-Jewish conspiracy theories. In this session, Joel examines what’s being claimed, why these accusations fall apart, and why Christians must practice discernment rather than spread fear and bear false witness. We can disagree with Jewish beliefs about salvation while refusing to misrepresent Jewish people.
