Shabbat 24 Oct - 13 Cheshvan

The latest reading from the Daily Bread for Busy Moms podcast focuses on the Torah portion Lech Lecha, which emphasizes God's covenant with Abraham. The reading from Genesis details God's promise to establish an everlasting covenant with Abraham and his descendants, highlighting the significance of circumcision as a physical sign of this covenant. The narrative also introduces the name change from Sarai to Sarah and foretells the birth of Isaac, despite Abraham and Sarah's advanced age.

The podcast also includes a prophetic reading from Isaiah, where themes of strength and reassurance are prominent. God reassures Israel of His support and presence, emphasizing that He will uphold and strengthen His people against their adversaries. The reading concludes with a message of hope and empowerment for Israel, portraying them as a powerful force despite their perceived weakness.

Additionally, the apostolic scripture from Romans discusses the righteousness of Abraham, underscoring that faith, rather than works, is credited as righteousness. This passage highlights the significance of Abraham's faith in God and its implications for both the circumcised and uncircumcised, establishing Abraham as a spiritual father to all believers.
