Episode 118 - PitBulls as Military k9 in the US Special Forces

This is a great chat for anyone interested in Sport Protection Training. Shade Whitesel has competed in Schutzhund / IGP for close to 30 years. She is a crossover trainer who has found an approach that promotes a more rewarding / positive experience for the dogs she trains. **I'm seeing this as a common thread in many highly talented trainers. In this podcast we discuss what made her change training theories and the successes she's seen throughout this journey. ***** The Training Event Discussed in this Podcast: THE USCA Southwest Region - Regional Training Event December 19 & 20, 2026

Dog training, veterinary medicine, and holistic healing collide in this powerful conversation. My dog's health is so important to me... I consider so many things including diet, exercise, activities and so much more in an effort to give my dog not only a long life, but a better quality of life as well. Because of that I will try to focus more on things we can do to improve our dogs' lives when it comes to health and wellness. I've recently begun using the EQUUSIR bio mat EMF pad. I have seen my dogs relaxing more and enjoying the rejuvenation on it. I wasn't sure what exactly all of the features and benefits of it were so I invited Dr. Jaime Picket DVM to discuss it. Dr Jaime is a veterinary doctor and also the veterinary representative for EQUUSIR. We discussed the medical benefits on this podcast and I w as surprised to learn even more about EMF Therapy and how it can help our dogs. When I find products that I love and use regularly I like to partner with these select companies in order to bring more awareness to their brands and also to help my viewers learn more. So I'm happy to be an ambassador to EQUUSIR. You can use my code to purchase the blanket below. Undoubtedly one of my favorite people to talk with is Jamie Penrith. He's a fantastic human and a great dog trainer, a dog trainer who loves dogs and cares deeply about their well-being. We've been friends for many years and I am lucky to consider him a friend. He is among the best spoken people on the topic of dog training and has the chops to match it. Watch his videos and then sign up for his online training at: https://taketheleadtraining.co.uk Jamie has led a tireless fight for the rights of dog owners to train their dogs their way. This has been part of the foundation of ARDO (the Association of Responsible Dog Owners). He has appeared on many TV shows educating the public on fair dog training. Beyond that he is a gentleman and a scholar, a skilled dogman and a guy I respect very much. I hope you'll enjoy this chat. Be sure to subscribe to this channel for more great content for dog lovers. This was never planned to be a podcast, but I was so s tricked by the questions Fabian asked me, I felt compelled to share it with everyone. Fabian Alvidrez reached out to me to ask me some questions about a journalism project he is doing for TCU, Texas Christian University. His questions were really deep and important for others to hear, so I'm glad he agreed to let me use this Q&A as a podcast. A little about Fabian: Fabian is a senior Journalism major and Kinesiology minor from Texas Christian University. A lifelong outdoorsman who practices fly fishing, traditional fishing, hunting and rock climbing. Before University he worked as a ranch hand for his father who is a horse trainer and raised his brothers and him around live stock. He also served a little over four years as a U.S Marine with two deployments. This is where he was first introduced to Belgian Malinois I hope you'll enjoy this chat and it will provoke more conversation on helping people better understand the Belgian Malinois.
