In this episode of Ancient Roots of Life, JT and Josh Truex dive into one of the biggest mysteries in Genesis: what happened to the giants after the Flood?
We start with the recent buzz surrounding Mount Ararat and reports of new scans that appear to show a massive boat-shaped structure beneath the surface. Could this be evidence of Noah’s Ark, or are we looking at something else entirely? From there, the conversation goes deep into the strange traditions surrounding Noah, ancient anchor stones, Og of Bashan, the Rephaim, and the possibility that the Nephilim survived—or returned—after the Flood. We also explore Genesis 6, the “sons of God,” the idea of a second incursion, and why giant tribes appear again in the biblical record long after the Flood. JT and Josh compare the biblical account with ancient traditions from Sumerian, Greek, and other cultures, while asking how much of these stories may preserve distorted memories of real events.
The conversation also gets into some of the stranger questions surrounding Noah’s family, the curse of Canaan, the meaning of “uncovering nakedness,” and whether ancient traditions about Noah’s wife or bloodlines could help explain the presence of giants in the post-Flood world.
