Prayers & Bible Study x Lekeshia Cody| Eat This & Not That Series: Know Thy Enemies
The Praying Single Mom PodcastShow Notes
We are in an all new series called Eat This Not That. Last week we talked about Prayers That Availeth Much (How to Pray).
That teaching was practically a prayer training. Many people reached out after the study advising how the study impacted them and changed their perspective on prayer.
This week we are going to continue on with the series.
While it’s important to know how to pray, who you’re praying to, what you’re praying for, it’s also important to know your enemies.
A lot of times, our prayers aren’t effective because we haven’t identified the real enemy.
The bible says in Hosea 4:6 that my people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge.
We don’t want to continue being destroyed, we want to be able to identify Satan's devices. This is all part of having spiritual intelligence.
Tonight’s topic is Eat This Not That: Know Thy Enemies I will be teaching out of the Bible as well as Cindy Trimm’s The Rules of Engagement Book
So what is the kingdom of darkness?
The kingdom of darkness is a spiritual kingdom, it’s spiritual in nature (see Jude 6)
Satan’s kingdom of darkness has twelve systems that exist: Social system (culture, entertainment, language, marriage, family) Entertainment Environmental Economical Educational Technological Religious (anti-God, atheist, humanistic) Governmental
4. God has given us the power and authority to expose Satan’s tactics and overcome every attack
5. Satan has set himself up to be a god in the earth realm
6. Satan and his demonic minions (cohorts) have the ability to oppress, possess, and terrorize humanity
7. Satan has a sophisticated economy - to be sophisticated means to have a great deal of worldly experience and knowledge of fashion and culture
8. The kingdom of satan is the kingdom of darkness

Lately, I’ve noticed something — whether it’s people close to me or those I just know — many are asking questions like: "How do I know if this is God?" "Was that dream from Him?" "Is this a sign or just coincidence?" "Can I really hear His voice?" There’s a real hunger right now to discern God's voice clearly — in dreams, visions, impressions, and even conversations. And as I brought this to the Lord, I heard Him say: “My people need a refresher. Teach them what it looks like to live prophetically — not just in church, but in everyday life.” See, when we hear the word “prophetic,” many of us instantly picture something mysterious, spooky, or reserved for a select few — the prophets with microphones or platforms. But that’s not God’s design. The prophetic isn’t reserved for the elite. It’s for the intimate. It’s for the ones who walk with God, hear Him, and respond — daily. So tonight, we’re going to break this down in a real and relatable way — what the prophetic truly is, why your relationship with God matters, how to walk in the prophetic as a Kingdom daughter, and how the Holy Spirit leads you day by day. And toward the end, we’ll do a prophetic activation — a simple, powerful way to listen and release what we hear from God over one another. So let's get into it — and allow God to refresh, awaken, and activate us.

This teaching explores the connection between self-neglect, self-sabotage, and our struggle to follow through. It’s not always about waiting on a breakthrough—sometimes it’s about learning to be consistent, disciplined, and faithful to the promises we’ve made. You’ll learn what it means to follow through, why it matters spiritually, and how to start showing up for yourself again—starting today. Watch this if you’ve ever struggled with finishing what you started. God is calling you back to wholeness, discipline, and destiny.
