Hey there, I'm so excited to announce that the Chaos to Connected podcast is coming back!!! I took a break about 6 months ago and had no idea whether I'd be back or not, but I'm making some big pivots and wanted to share them with you today. New episodes will begin airing in September when I re-launch, but in the meantime I would LOVE to hear from you! What questions do you have? What topics do you want to deep dive into? What's your biggest struggle right now? I also wanted to do something fun before episodes resume; if you write a review over on apple podcasts, take a screen shot and send it to me ([email protected]) I am going to send you my Chaos to Calm: Conquering Aggressive Behaviors course for FREE! (currently $197) This course dives into why physical behaviors are actually occurring, gives you a step by step guide on what to actually do about them, and FAQs that families have consistently asked me to help you even more! And you can, of course, binge past episodes. I'm going to be doing some extra fun things inside of my emails too because I really want to be able to create more community and a place where you feel safe and seen. So if you'd like to subscribe and get weekly insights, encouragement reminders, AND bonus sneak peaks/mini coaching insights and be the first to actually hear the podcasts each week, you can do so here: https://chaostoconnected.myflodesk.com/cvuin24b94 For more info re: 1:1 coaching options on a budget and other ways to receive support, click here: https://stan.store/KJZ112815. More from Chaos to Connected - Helping Parents Navigate Challenging Behavior with Connection; Christian moms, behavior management, positive parenting, discipline, tantrums, aggression, biblical parenting
Parenting from rest doesn't just mean making more time to sit or lay down and shut your brain off. As a mom, we have a lot of things to get done in a day, but we can still work through those from a perspective of rest, instead of rushing through to get to the next thing. Because we all know there will always be a next thing. Today's episode will give you 5 reasons rushing, being impatient, or even triggered by time (ex. getting frustrated by how long it takes your child to complete a task, especially when you're in a hurry) is happening. (By now, I hope you can see that there's more to everything we do and if we want to parent more from peace and rest we have to actually address those things) I'm also sharing with you 7 practical strategies you can implement today to start parenting with more presence and less chaos. I don't know about you but I never want to go through a full day home with my kids yet wonder if I really even looked in their eyes. Lastly, I leave you with 2 questions to think through this week that will help assess where you're at right now.
You’ve been learning to understand your child’s triggers and behavior and hold space for emotions but what happens when your spouse gets triggered? And doesn't respond how you want hime to? In this episode, we’re talking about how to navigate your spouse’s reactions, understand what may be happening beneath them, and respond without creating more conflict in your home.
Hard seasons have a way of revealing what's really in our hearts. Whether you're walking through a difficult season of motherhood, feeling discouraged, or simply trying to keep your head above water, this episode is for you. In today's conversation, I'm sharing some of the biggest lessons I've learned walking through hard seasons of motherhood, along with practical strategies, biblical encouragement, and perspective shifts that have helped me move from simply surviving to allowing it to be a time of growth in endurance and capacity for all that motherhood brings. In this episode, we'll cover:
What if your child's challenging behavior isn't just an opportunity for their growth—but yours too? In this episode, I share why I believe there is a formula for improving behavior, despite what some Christian voices may say. We talk about why understanding child development and behavior doesn't compete with Scripture, it complements it. I also share why blanket encouragement like "you're a good mom" isn't always the message we need, and how to honestly evaluate whether we're growing or simply staying comfortable. Finally, we explore the perspective shift that has changed my own parenting: moving from asking, "God, why won't You change this?" to "God, how are You using this to change me?"
My brain naturally wants to lecture when my kids are fighting or when someone misbehaves or disobeys. What I've also learned is that it doesn't work when my kids (or me) are dys-regulated. However, my brain continues to try and push me to do it in the heat of the moment...why? Today, we are talking all about it. There are 5 main reasons I believe we do this and I'm going to shed some light on them. I also walk you through how to start shifting those habits and patterns so you don't stay stuck there - without awareness, there is no action. And without action, there is no change. BONUS pep talk at the end - I know this work is hard and I never want to sugar coat it. But the longer I've been parenting this way, working on my own triggers and regulation, and focusing on intentional connection and conscious responses the easier it has gotten and the more fruit I've seen! And I want that for YOU too!!
