Where Should We Invest in Addiction Care? – Interprofessional Panel – Addiction Treatment Course
YaleCoursesShow Notes
🎥 This interprofessional panel brings together instructors from Yale University in medicine, physician associate programs, nursing, and public health to explore key issues in addiction treatment. Each discussion reflects the unique expertise and perspective of the panelists, offering a well-rounded approach to patient care. Uploaded 05-08-25📚 About the Course This course is designed with a singular goal: to improve the care you provide to your patients with substance use disorders. By delving into a model case performed by actors, seven Yale instructors from various fields provide techniques to screen your patients for substance use disorder risk, diagnose patients to gauge the severity of their use, directly manage treatment plans, refer out to treatment services, and navigate the various conditions that may limit your patient’s access to treatment. You will ultimately be prepared to provide compassionate and evidence-based care to a large population of patients living with addiction — a chronic, often relapsing-remitting disease, but a treatable one. This course is supported in part by SAMHSA of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of financial assistance awards from grant #1H79FG000023 totaling $249,900 and grant #3H79TI081968-02S1 from SAMHSA totaling $1,354,651 with 100 percent funded by SAMHSA/HHS. How far can productivity be pushed to produce more surplus-value? How should we calculate the rate of exploitation of labor? What is a wage?Uploaded 25-03-26A chapter by chapter study of Marx’s powerful analysis in Capital: Critique of Political Economy, Volume 1. This book from 1872 is still the best guide to the predatory economic and social system within which we live. The book solves five basic mysteries in our social world. The mysteries are: why social classes struggle against one another, why human beings are in the thrall of things, how a quantity of money turns into more money without seeming to add anything, why some people are forced to work and the more they work the less they make proportional to their effort, and finally, and why it is so hard to transform the system for the better. This course is taught by Paul North, Maurice Natanson Professor of German, Yale University. Prof. North is co-editor of the new English translation and critical edition of Capital Volume 1 by Karl Marx published in 2024 by Princeton University Press. https://press.princeton.edu/books/hardcover/9780691190075/capital To view other videos in this course, visit this link. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLh9mgdi4rNewd_0qe4c2lkzXZZQka_QnZ&si=CHOgjCcVD0K378kl Learn more about your ad choices.
