While not discussed in the podcast, we noted other references in this episode including: Rubik's Cube - Jess complained that Nick did not finish solving the Rubik's Cube, which was literally one turn from the end.
Game of Thrones - Tripp mentioned that his animal acting agency recently signed the crow from Game of Thrones.
Avatar - Tripp used a future Avatar movie that takes place on a "cat planet" as an example of why his animal agent job is important.
Chicago Bears / Mike Ditka / Vic Fangio / John Fox / Ryan Pace - When Nick asked Jess who her sex dream was about, he guessed if it was former coaches Mike Ditka, Vic Fangio, John Fox, or former GM Ryan Pace. The Chicago Bears also were a reference throughout the episode given Jess’s helmet.
Salt-N-Pepa - Jess said Nick sounded like the beginning of a Salt-N-Pepa song.
Michael Jordan - Winston introduced his cat, Furguson, using a nickname that included the full name of basketball legend Michael Jordan.
Blue Man Group - Jess sarcastically said her outfit with the football helmet was the "perfect ensemble for a night at the theater" where she could take whatever was thrown at her by the Blue Man Group.
Macaulay Culkin & Kiernan Culkin - The pet casting director suggested that a cat named Patches was unoriginal compared to Furguson, comparing Patches to one of the Culkin brothers.
Hillary Clinton - Jess described having a dream about being in a muffin test kitchen and having Hillary Clinton tell her his muffins "suck."
