The Lads are back in action on Wearside as we open our home campaign with a clash against the only team to beat us twice last season in the shape of Fulham. After last week's opening day defeat, Sunderland will want to get points on the board to kick-off our new campaign, and what better way to do it then in front of the Stadium of Light crowd? But what of our weekend opponents? They also started the season with a defeat, losing 3-2 to Chelsea on Monday. Under new management, what has changed at Craven Cottage over the summer? To let us know, the always excellent Jack Collins from the Fulhamish Podcast joins us once again. Enjoyed the episode? Four defeats in a row, and Sunderland are bottom of the league. This weekend we face a tough task against Leeds United, but there can simply be no margin for error at the SOL. Things are going quite swimmingly at Leeds United, with Daniel Farke leading them to seventh in the table after just one defeat this season - but where can we hurt them and get our second back on track? To let us know, we are joined by the excellent Scott Worrall of the Leeds Lens. ORDER 'WE WERE WEARSIDE' HERE. Enjoyed the episode? More positives than there has been recently, but still frustration as Sunderland fail to take their chances and draw in Poland, with Timur Tutierov bagging his first goal for the club. Kyle is joined by Ian and Sophie to run through another Europa League point as Sunderland go three unbeaten in Europe.
Enough of the domestic. We have an away in Poland to do, so block out the noise and let's get behind the boys - as hard as it might be at the moment! Next up is an away trip to wonderful city of Poznan as we head to one of the most fiercely passionate grounds in European football. But what can we expect on the pitch? To give us the lowdown on this Lech Poznan is the excellent Marcin Jezyk from the Poznanski Express Podcast. ORDER 'WE WERE WEARSIDE' HERE. Enjoyed the episode? Ugh. Four defeats in a row and things are beginning the look bleak. Defensively poor. Offensively non existent, and things are not feeling positive on Wearside. Graham, Dave, Brad, Ian and Kyle run through a woeful weekend as Sunderland go second bottom after losing at Bournemouth with 10 men. ORDER 'WE WERE WEARSIDE' HERE. Enjoyed the episode?
