Student Finds Document That Predicts Her Own Future: The Whitmore Archive Case

Cold certainty and creeping doubt: four typed pages, bone dry on an icy morning, describe a Thursday night habit and a fire that hasn't happened yet - and one of the people in that scene arrived at Whitmore months after the papers were sealed. What does it mean when a document in an 80s archive names a person who did not exist at the time, and why was the paper itself inconsistent with its supposed date?

In this episode, we follow how a graduate student discovered those four pages inside the Voss Collection and how the document's specific details - a Linfield Street common room, an east-facing window, a charred burner and a person burned on the left forearm - begin to unravel questions about origin and timing. Could a seemingly archival file actually be a prediction, or is there another explanation?

Person: Tammy Cole Date: April 5, 2019 Location: Harkin Hall basement archive, Whitmore University, Harlen, Ohio Author: unknown (four typed pages, no title, no date) Event: discovery of anomalous document in Box Three of the Voss Collection

- The folder was found on a service lane at 6:40 AM on April 9, 2019, bone dry despite sleet and ice around it. - Tammy Cole, age 22, discovered the first copy inside Box Three of six on April 5, 2019 while processing the Voss Collection. - The four typed pages contained a detailed description of a common room on Linfield Street, a person near an east-facing window, and a burner left unattended causing a burn at about 9:15 PM on a Thursday. - Marcus Jee, a chemistry post-doc who arrived September 2018, habitually stood by the east-facing window on Thursday nights - a detail present in the document. - Helen Voss died in October 2018 and her papers were donated in March 2019, yet the document describes a person who arrived at Whitmore after the papers were sealed.
