NLP and how the unconscious mind can be influenced to achieve your goals

Discover:

We as humans are amazing and often strange. Where are our decisions coming from? What drives behaviours?

Pulling back the velvet curtains and taking a peek into the unconscious mind can help us achieve our goals.

A small shift in language can help stick to your New Years Goals, stay on your quest for health and move us closer to your business goals.

You will also be able to help your clients shift language patterns to maximize results from your sessions. When you clients change language this affects the images in their mind. New images in the mind lead to new behaviours. New thoughts and behaviours lead to a new life. Not overnight but in the long-term. And we want long-term results, right?

At work change your language patterns to increase productivity. And If you are wondering would it help to get your children to do their homework? Yes.

No tricks, just understanding how the unconscious mind process information.

This simple understanding forms the foundation for all influence patterns.

Because this is a natural process learn how to avoid negative influence. This helps us even when you are surrounded at work by people who seem to pull you down. Learn two easy to remember guidelines in this podcast so that you can keep yourself positive.

In this audio, we will also cover how small actions can lead to new habits. When we understand that your unconscious mind wishes to make your life easier for you by looking for patterns. Then designing positive habits for your self and others become a breeze.

Have you ever wondered what drives your and others decisions? This is what we will be exploring in this series of NLP Podcasts.

Have you ever caught yourself replaying a minor mistake, while your inner critic runs wild with harsh commentary? In this episode of NLP in Real Life, I invite you to take a fresh look at that self-critical voice. Instead of trying to silence it, what if we got curious and asked what it might be trying to achieve? Guided by NLP principles, we'll explore the idea that even our harshest inner dialogue could hold a positive intention—however clumsy its delivery. Along the way, we'll uncover practical strategies to shift from self-judgment to self-understanding, turning the volume down on criticism and up on learning and growth. Join me as we discover how to keep the intention and change the strategy, transforming those unhelpful comments into insights you can actually use.

How do you say no when you know it’s the right answer for you—without treating the guilt afterwards as proof that you’ve done something wrong? I dive into that question this week on NLP in Real Life. We’ll look at why guilt can feel so persuasive, even when all you’ve done is disappoint someone (which is not the same as wrongdoing), and how our language—particularly those little words like “should,” “must,” “have to,” “need to,” and “can’t”—can turn routine decisions into emotional high-stakes moments. Together, we’ll explore how to use the NLP meta-model to spot the hidden rules that drive guilt and obligation, separate facts from predictions, and recover the freedom of genuine choice. Plus, I’ll share a simple experiment you can try in the next 24 hours to transform a “should” into a choice—so you can respond with honesty, kindness, and clarity, rather than getting trapped in guilt. This is NLP in Real Life, and we’re getting practical about saying no, challenging guilt, and making more deliberate decisions.

Finding yourself saying yes to requests before you've had a chance to consider your true feelings. One concept discussed was the internal struggle between the part that wants to be helpful and accommodating, and the part that seeks to protect time, energy, and commitments. A key theme that emerged was that both sides of this internal conflict often have important, positive intentions—one aiming for connection and support, the other for boundaries and self-respect. Labeling one side as “bad” or “weak” isn’t useful, and introduced the NLP “visual squash” technique as a way to recognise and negotiate between these competing parts. Several points were raised, including how to identify the higher intentions behind each side, how to move from automatic reactivity to conscious choice, and how integrating both sides can lead to more satisfying, flexible responses in everyday situations. This episode invites listeners to experiment with these ideas, offering practical steps and language shifts that transform internal conflicts into opportunities for meaningful change.

We've all faced those tough conversations—the ones we rehearse over and over in our heads, yet find ourselves avoiding in real life. Maybe it's feedback for a colleague, a boundary with a friend, or a candid talk with a loved one. Despite our best intentions, we end up postponing the moment, searching for the perfect opening, or feeling overwhelmed by the imagined responses of others. In this episode of NLP Courses, I'm diving into the surprising reason why difficult conversations feel so hard and sharing a practical NLP approach to make them easier. We'll explore what happens when we stop trying to control every possible reaction and instead focus on the one piece we can truly own: our part. You'll learn how to clarify your intention, sharpen your language, and use a 5-minute outcome plan to finally have that hard conversation—with clarity, confidence, and compassion. Whether it's about work, family, or friendship, join me to discover simple steps that can turn dreaded talks into more productive and honest moments.

Have you ever found yourself rehashing a perfectly normal conversation in your head, only for it to turn into a disaster hours later? In this episode of NLP in Real Life, I explore the all-too-common habit of obsessing over what we said, how we said it, and what others must have thought. I’ll guide you through the subtle difference between useful reflection and unhelpful rumination, show you how to step out of the emotional replay loop, and introduce simple NLP techniques to help you extract value from your experiences—without turning every conversation into a courtroom drama. Whether it’s the awkward pause in a meeting or that one joke in a group chat, you’ll discover practical ways to stop the cycle, learn what matters, and move forward with more choice and less self-punishment. Let’s get started.
