Show Notes
The Knife is a weekly true crime podcast from journalist/producers Hannah Smith and Patia Eaton. It's a show about people who’ve been dropped into a story they didn't start, but are left to finish. In-depth interviews take the listener behind the punchy headlines to hear what really happened from the people who lived it. The Knife reveals the ripple effect of crime. Through empathetic, solution-oriented journalism, Hannah and Patia find the untold stories of people who’ve been touched by crime. They’re not breaking news or solving cases, they’re cutting to the heart of the experience through gripping, first-person storytelling. Ashlee and Kristal join us from Perth, Australia, to discuss their mother Donna Nelson's case. In January 2023, their 58-year-old mother was arrested in Tokyo on international drug-smuggling charges. Right away, they suspected the man Donna had been dating online. Together, Ashlee and Kristal share their family’s heartbreaking story, their ongoing fight for justice, and the warning signs of the elder drug mule scam.

Penny McGee has sent some version of her letter to about 25 strangers — Christine Blasey Ford, Lady Gaga and anyone else who might listen. Lauren Malloy is the one who answers. Inside a famous Newport, R.I.mansion, Penny lays out the harrowing night she claims she was raped by “J.,” a member of the same exclusive beach club. Four decades later, J. buys a house a mile down the road from Penny and it triggers trauma she had tried to bury for decades. She walks into the Narragansett police station to report a rape that happened before some of the detectives were born. Then she goes looking for other women, and finds one who never got the chance to come forward. That’s because she was found dead four years after that night at the club, last seen with J. But there are no perfect victims and Penny certainly has her skeletons. And when Lauren finds out the shocking crime that Penny herself is accused of, she's in too deep to walk away. Never underestimate an alleged con artist. Just when you think their back is up against the wall and they have zero chances of escaping, they surprise you. California Post reporter Jeremy Louwerse has the dirty details drenched in 'human juice' of this constantly evolving criminal case against the Sugarbaby of Beverly Hills.
I sit down with a man who's spent HOURS with Sugarbaby Adva Lavie aka Mia Ventura and he's sharing some pretty disturbing stuff.
Adva Lavie (aka Mia Ventura) is engaged to marry a billionaire who's running for governor while she's working as a sugarbaby in Beverly Hills. But authorities say she's really a con artist scamming rich men posing as their girlfriends to rob them. FYI this is the link to the incredible 'Holly Randall Unfiltered' interview of Adva Lavie aka Mia Ventura https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ygz_2Y-xF8
He's a billionaire running for Governor. She's a sugarbaby charged with scamming old rich men in Beverly Hills - and she's shockingly engaged to be married to the billionaire running for Governor. A trial date has not been set. But a wedding date has:)
