Orange Sherbet & LSD
Get in the car. We’re going to a Howard Johnson’s to eat orange sherbet. On the way, you can listen to this week’s episode with comedian and author of First Time, Long Time, Amy Silverberg, talking to Matt & Vince about Mad Men season five episode six, “Far Away Places.”
The episode is broken into three vignettes focused on Don, Roger, and Peggy. Each goes to a far away place and finds self-discovery. Probably could have stayed home to do that, but then it wouldn’t be art.
Don goes to a Hojo’s upstate with Megan and tries to force feed her orange sherbet. Not in like a kinky, feeder fetish way, so keep it in your pants, sickos. No, it’s more of a classic controlling husband sort of way, and when she’s not receptive to it, he drives off without her. His self-discovery: he’s been too horny to work hard.
Peggy goes to Mars, sort of. Ginsberg tells her he was born there, and definitely not in a concentration camp. Her self-discovery: She has been working too hard to be horny.
Roger’s far away place is the depths of his own mind, man. He drops acid with Jane and a bunch of her intellectual friends. His self-discovery: he’s no longer horny for being married to Jane.

The Sno Ball is the Sin that Gets You into Hell
In brief: Guest Will Poole, aka Wapplehouse, aka Kristi Yamaguccimane, from Jortscenter pod. News discussion: urine enthusiasts trying to trick AI. Movie discussion: Unabomber on Netflix. Will aka Kristi Yamaguccimane joins the Frot this week, and folks this one has it all: dumb guys singing about drinking pee, dumb guys using AI to drink pee, dumb guys who aren’t drinking pee but had they done so would have been less embarrassing than what they actually did, and the Unabomber. AI-wielding pee drinkers are using their favorite LLMs to justify drinking pee. For your health. Said pee-drinkers, with their insatiable thirst for…knowledge, are here to give you all the hot tips on how to bully AI into telling you exactly what you want to hear (in this case, that drinking pee is part of a balanced breakfast). That would seem to defeat the purpose of consulting with a machine that purports to be the sum of all human knowledge, but that hasn’t stopped pretty much any one of these AI-poisoned idiots yet. HEY GROK CREATE A METAPHOR FOR THE FOLLY OF MAN BUT PUT IT IN A MODERN CONTEXT AND MAKE IT STUPID. HEY GROK MAKE IT STUPIDER! Next, we cover the viral moment in the Jack Smith Congressional hearing where Missouri senator Eric Schmitt showed his entire ass by not knowing ball. He thought he had Smith dead to rights and revealed his Perry Mason moment, only to discover he had the wrong sport and city. Amy Klobuchar had to step in to explain the difference between the Atlanta Hawks of the NBA and the Iowa Hawkeyes of the NCAA. Imagine not being able to win an election against these guys. You would have to be a real fucking loser! Who will stand up for the grandparents? Certainly not them, that chair is comfy, the heat is set at 85 degrees, and they have arthritis! We go to Florida, where we hear the harrowing story of one gamgam’s quest to see her grandson after being cut off by her daughter, who by the way could have done much better than Darrell and is too hippy for those slacks. Finally, this week we watched Unabomber, wherein a fictional character played by Shailene Woodley fights the laws of the United States and apparently physics to apprehend the non-fictional Unabomber. It’s kind of a sci-fi. The Fault in our Star Wars. Anyway, it’s a movie about posting, both in the online and British uses of the word. Solid B+.
