The Day I Finally Got Sober - JD Denham’s Sobriety Story | The Iron Perspective with JD Denham 55
The JD Denham PodcastShow Notes
In this episode of The Iron Perspective, JD Denham opens up about the story behind the man you see today a story rooted in addiction, brokenness, faith, and the relentless pursuit of redemption. As part of Redemption Month, JD steps away from interviewing guests and instead shares the raw truth about his own journey from heroin addiction to 15 years of sobriety.
From growing up in a strong Christian family to losing his way through drugs, partying, and self-destruction, JD walks through the chain of events that led him to the darkest place of his life. From cocaine and prescription pills to heroin and speed, his addiction escalated until he found himself completely lost, living a life of chaos, loneliness, and hopelessness.
But in the middle of that darkness, moments began to happen that JD believes were nothing short of divine intervention a stranger delivering a message from God, a police encounter that could have ended very differently, and a final moment of surrender that changed everything.
JD shares the night he did his last shot of heroin, waking up on January 18th, 2011 with a decision that would shape the rest of his life. With nothing but a laundry basket of clothes and a willingness to change, he entered sober living and began the work that would rebuild him into the man he is today.
He also breaks down the lessons that built his life after addiction the power of a mentor, the impact of discipline, and the morning routine that has anchored his sobriety for more than 15 years. From waking up at 4 AM and refusing to hit snooze, to prayer, reflection, and intentional self-development, JD explains how earning the sunrise became the foundation of his success in business, sobriety, and life.
This episode is a reminder that no matter how far someone has fallen, redemption is possible. The path back starts with honesty, discipline, and the willingness to change one day at a time.
