Summary
A family in Ashland, Ohio, experiences a series of unsettling events after moving into a home with a pond that has a dark history. Shonda and Jason Snyder, who initially found joy in their new life with their daughter Lily, soon notice strange behaviors linked to the pond. Lily develops an unusual fixation on the water, leading her to wander dangerously close to its edge multiple times, seemingly drawn by an unseen force.
As the family grapples with Lily's eerie behavior, they encounter increasingly disturbing occurrences in their home, including unexplained noises, physical disturbances, and even a violent attack on Jason. These incidents escalate to the point where Shonda witnesses Lily being physically pulled outside toward the pond, while Jason narrowly escapes being drawn into the water by an out-of-control lawnmower.
Concerned for their safety, the family seeks help from a local pastor and a spiritual advisor, who warn them of a negative presence associated with the pond. After researching the property’s history, Shonda uncovers a tragic drowning incident involving a young boy, raising questions about the connection between the pond, Lily's imaginary friend, and the disturbances in their home. Ultimately, the Snyders decide to leave the property, fearing for their family's safety as they seek to return to a sense of normalcy.
