In this episode of Shed & Shine, Rob and Gino talk about a taboo topic: money. They go deeper than tactics or budgets. This is about the relationship; where the noise comes from, how it was shaped by the way you grew up, and what it says about you that you might not have noticed yet. Gino gets honest about going broke three times before age 31, the moment that finally changed everything, and the threshold he kept moving every time he hit it. Rob brings it into context with a Zen story and a simple, uncomfortable question: what if the number you're chasing isn't actually what you're looking for? There's no shame in wanting a big number. Just make sure you know why.

More from Shed and Shine
In this episode of Shed and Shine, Gino wants you to ask yourself a question: Do you know you are creative? He starts with a belief he's held for 20 years, that we are here for three things: freedom, creativity, and impact. Then he reads a poem he wrote specifically for the entrepreneur who has never once thought of themselves as a creative. From there he gets into what creativity actually looks like for driven people, how stillness creates the opening to receive downloads, and why putting a stake in the ground is one of the most powerful things you can do to unlock what you're here to create. What do you want to create? Do it for the love of it. Let the outcome be what it is.
In this episode of Shed and Shine, Rob and Gino dig into what impact actually means for driven people, and whether the drive to make one is coming from the True Self or the ego. Gino discusses the empathy trap. He's highly empathetic, always has been, and he's starting to see how much it's held him back. The distinction he draws between empathy and compassion is one that every driven person needs to hear. They also get into the full spectrum of what impact looks like, why your everyday actions are probably already making a bigger difference than you realize, and what it means to shift from ego-based impact to soul-based impact. Your impact is already happening. The question is where it's coming from.
In this episode of Shed and Shine, Gino has five things on his list, each one too good to sit on any longer. Gino starts with a new book called Let It Fly, built from his 15 best episodes. He then describes a client session that reminded him exactly why he loves what he does and prompted the question: are you doing what you love? From there, he shares a phrase from Chase Hughes that stopped him cold, which asks whether you are an upward force or a downward force. He also debriefs his sabbatical and explains why he keeps urging driven people to take one. Finally, he reads two paragraphs from The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer that say a great deal about what we've asked our minds to do and why the mind was never qualified for the job. Fire your mind. Let go of your inner problems. Your True Self is waiting.
In this episode of Shed and Shine, Rob and Gino wade into AI, specifically whether it has any role in helping driven people free their True Selves. Rob shares how he's been using it practically, freeing up time for deeper practices, and his experiment feeding all his dreams into AI to find patterns he couldn't see on his own. Gino brings his "low/no tech" perspective, including the book he's writing, the 80% rule, and a genuinely interesting idea: talk your 10 Disciplines into your AI every day, and let it nudge you toward your soul. But he also draws a hard line: if you're trusting AI 100%, that's dangerous. People are making life-altering decisions based on what an algorithm tells them. You have agency. You know what to do. Stop listening to everyone else and listen to yourself. Use it as a tool. Not a compass.
In this episode of Shed & Shine, Gino starts with gratitude. Sitting in a coffee shop during a clarity break, a wave of gratitude hit him for the people in his life who had lifted him or made him better, so he texted 15 of them four words: "I'm grateful to have you in my life." The responses surprised him. One person wrote back that he really needed it that day, and a few told him they'd never heard anything like it from Gino before. It felt a little strange for people to hear, but it strengthened everything.
