294. How To Bring The Fun In Business Back When You've Lost Your Spark
The Subconscious Expert: Mindset, Identity Work & Embodied Leadership for Ambitious WomenShow Notes
Having fun in business shouldn't be optional but mandatory. So why is it the last thing we think about when it comes to business? Today, I'm bringing you another client success story. Therese came to my world about a year ago overwhelmed, multitasking constantly and convinced she just needs more discipline. She'd come to hate marketing her business, because every post had to be perfect before she'd let anyone see it. A year on, she runs that same business as a completely different woman, and the thing that shifted had nothing to do with strategy. Through parts work she found the part of herself she'd buried, and once she reconnected with her, everything changed. We got into the money beliefs she inherited from generations before her, how we rebuilt her money mindset, and the one thing that we did that ended her social media comparison in a matter of days! Topics covered on How To Bring The Fun In Business: What kills the fun in business faster than anything else, and what did Therese need instead? Where was Therese a year ago, and what finally made her invest in mindset coaching? How did we discover the part of herself that completely changed how she runs her business now? What did we do to end her social media comparison spiral once and for all? What shifted in her money mindset when she realised those money beliefs were never hers?

Sign up to 2027...loading - The FREE masterclass where I'm taking you behind the scenes of how I'm preparing for my biggest year yet, sharing the subconscious strategies I've spent seven years using myself and teaching to hundreds of entrepreneurs to help them turn their biggest business ambitions into reality. When did you become so realistic about the things you used to dream about? Because I bet when you first started your business, you had some outrageous ambitions. The £20k months, the speaking opportunities, the book deal, the financial freedom, the business that everyone in your industry knew about. And you used to get so excited thinking about what was possible. But somewhere between the launches that didn't go to plan, the goals you didn't quite hit and the things that took longer than you expected, you might have started talking yourself out of what you actually want. You probably have more experience, knowledge and evidence of your capabilities now than you've ever had before. So why have your ambitions started getting smaller? In this episode of The Subconscious Expert, we're getting into the subconscious beliefs and expectations that influence your relationship with goals, how previous disappointments can affect the decisions you're making in your business, and why you might be unknowingly protecting yourself from wanting the very things you're working towards. We'll also explore where your relationship with goal setting originally came from, whether the goals you're pursuing are genuinely yours, and how to start experiencing more of what you actually want while you're working towards achieving it. Because I don't particularly fancy you spending the next five years gradually talking yourself out of the things you started your business to experience. And if you've got some rather outrageous ambitions for 2027, I've got something for you! On Thursday 22 October at 11am UK, I'm hosting my completely free masterclass, 2027, Loading... I'm taking you behind the scenes of my own subconscious planning process, showing you how I'm working through my beliefs, expectations and identity, and helping you apply that work to your own goals so you can start preparing for the business and life you want to create. Replay available. Topics covered on why you've started talking yourself out of your dreams: Why experienced business owners can become less ambitious despite having more evidence of their capabilities. How your early experiences influence your subconscious beliefs about wanting things and setting goals. Why missed business goals can turn into limiting beliefs and expectations about future success. How your subconscious can influence self sabotaging behaviours and decisions in your business. Why being realistic or going with the flow can sometimes be a way of avoiding disappointment. How to recognise whether your goals are genuinely yours or influenced by other people's expectations. Why understanding what you actually want your goals to give you is so important. How to stop postponing freedom, confidence and success until you've achieved a particular milestone. How to change your relationship with goal setting through new beliefs, behaviours and experiences.
"I just work really well under pressure." I hear this from my clients all the time, and yes, you probably do. You've built a business off the back of deadlines, panic and proving people wrong, and it's got you a long way. But there are other ways to motivate yourself, and running on pressure gets exhausting once you want to scale your business. So today, I'm talking about motivation strategy from an NLP perspective, the subconscious patterns behind your business motivation, and how to motivate yourself when nothing is on fire and there's no deadline breathing down your neck.
There are 3 women I am actively modelling in my business right now. If you're a loyal listener, you've heard me talk about the NLP modelling technique. If you're new here, you'll learn all about it today. I'm sharing who these successful women are, what I'm paying attention to with each of them, and the NLP modelling process underneath it all. Because admiration can become a comparison really fast, but with the NLP modelling technique, you turn that admiration into something so much more powerful. So if you want to know how learning from successful women has shaped the way I build a personal brand and coaching business that actually feels like me, this one is for you.
I haven’t really been posting lately and, if you know me, you’ll know just how unlike me that is. Consistency has been a huge part of how I’ve built my business over the last six years, so this period has brought up a lot for me, from questioning why I suddenly didn’t want to create, to looking at the beliefs and identity wrapped up in being someone who has always been known for showing up. And the more I’ve sat with it, the more I’ve realised just how much I don’t want to go back to creating content in the way I was before. In this episode, I’m taking you behind the scenes of what I’ve actually been navigating, my growing frustration with how strategic content has become, and why I think somewhere along the way we’ve stripped so much of the human out of building a personal brand. I’m also sharing what’s been happening for me subconsciously as I move away from something that has worked incredibly well for six years, why that has been much harder than I expected, and what I want this next chapter of Rebecca Haydon and The Subconscious Institute to look like. There’s no shiny new seven step content strategy at the end of this one, I’m figuring it out, changing things, experimenting and letting you come behind the scenes while I do. This is very much my stake in the ground for what comes next. Topics covered on changing my content strategy: Why I haven’t been creating content consistently recently How being known for consistency became wrapped up in my identity Why I think content strategy has become so strategic that we’re losing the human behind the brand The pressure to make every post have a hook, purpose, CTA and perfectly engineered angle Why I don’t want to keep creating content a certain way simply because I know it works What has been happening subconsciously as I’ve started changing something I’ve done for six years Giving myself space to decide what I actually want my personal brand to become Bringing more of my life, thoughts, businesses, motherhood, opinions and behind the scenes into my content My bigger vision for bringing NLP, Hypnosis and subconscious work into more conversations, industries and rooms Why I’m letting you watch me figure out what comes next rather than waiting until I have it perfectly worked out
Success sells, someone grows by 100,000 followers, has a £500k launch, sells out an event or builds a seven figure business and naturally, we want to know how they did it. But what aren’t we seeing? In this episode of The Subconscious Expert, I’m exploring the subconscious psychology behind success and the part of someone’s results that can’t be packaged neatly into a strategy, framework or five step method. Because when somebody tells you what they did to become successful, you’re seeing the behaviour and the result. You’re not necessarily seeing the beliefs they grew up with, what was already normal to them, their relationship with money, visibility and risk, the experiences that shaped them, what they value or the filters through which they experience their business. And all of that came with them when they executed the strategy they’re now teaching you. We’re getting into why success itself creates authority, why somebody else’s results can make their advice feel more credible, and why two entrepreneurs can follow exactly the same strategy and have completely different experiences doing it. The point of this episode is to look beyond the success itself, get more discerning about what those results actually tell you, and understand more about the human being behind the business strategy. Topics covered on The Subconscious Psychology of Success: Why success is such powerful marketing and why we naturally pay attention to people who have created results we want The part of someone’s success you can’t see from their revenue, followers, launches or sold out events How subconscious beliefs, values, memories, experiences and filters influence the way somebody executes a business strategy Why somebody’s upbringing and relationship with money, visibility, risk, failure and success can matter to the results they create How two entrepreneurs can follow the same advice and have completely different internal experiences of doing it Why successful people may not consciously recognise everything that contributed to their own success The danger of assuming “this worked for me” automatically means “this will work for you” Why being successful at something and being skilled at helping somebody else do it are different skill sets How visible success can subconsciously create authority and influence who we choose to learn from What to look for beyond somebody’s success when choosing a coach, mentor, programme or strategy Why understanding what happens inside YOU when you implement a strategy can be more useful than continually searching for another one
