More from The Road to Emmaus with Scott Hahn
The lives of the saints are more than mere biographies. They are “lived exegesis” meant to inspire us to radical gospel living. No saint demonstrates this better than St. Francis of Assisi. In this episode of The Road to Emmaus, Scott Hahn is joined by Dr. Joshua Benson, Associate Professor of Historical and Systematic Theology at the Catholic University of America. Together they discuss how St. Francis of Assisi interpreted Scripture not just in words, but with his life. Through their conversation, you’ll learn St. Francis's simple method for reading Scripture, Francis’s humility flowed from his Eucharistic devotion, and his committment to poverty. Watch The Road to Emmaus now to discover why the lives of the saints make the best commentary on Sacred Scripture. ___ Want more from the St. Paul Center? 📱Download our NEW APP: https://stpaulcenter.com/app 📖 Get the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible for FREE: https://stpaulcenter.com/memberships Grow in your Love & Knowledge of Scripture 👨🏫 Join Scott Hahn & Others for a Bible Study: https://stpaulcenter.com/bible-studies 🛒 Browse our bookstore: https://stpaulcenter.co/emmausroadpublishing ✈️ Go on a pilgrimage with us: https://stpaulcenter.co/pilgrimages 🔥 Support our mission: https://stpaulcenter.co/donate For Priests: ✨ Every Priest receives a FREE All-Access Membership: https://stpaulcenter.com/priests ⛪️ If you're a Priest looking to attend one of our annual Priest Conferences: https://stpaulcenter.co/priestconferences ___ Follow us on Social Media: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/stpaulcenter Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SaintPaulCenter/ X/Twitter: https://x.com/saintpaulcenter #jesuschrist #scotthahn #theroadtoemmaus #joshbenson
There's a common misconception that “covenant” is merely an elevated synonym for “contract.” In this episode of The Road to Emmaus, Scott Hahn and Rob Corzine discuss how covenant and contract aren’t just different ways of speaking of the same thing; they are different things altogether! Through their insightful conversation, you’ll learn the origin of the confusion between “covenant” and “contract,” the distinctions between the two, and practical tips for applying covenant in your life. St. Irenaeus describes covenant as an “immortal diamond.” This episode will show you why it’s so important for understanding the Christian life. ___ Want more from the St. Paul Center? 📱Download our NEW APP: https://stpaulcenter.com/app 📖 Get the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible for FREE: https://stpaulcenter.com/memberships Grow in your Love & Knowledge of Scripture 👨🏫 Join Scott Hahn & Others for a Bible Study: https://stpaulcenter.com/bible-studies 🛒 Browse our bookstore: https://stpaulcenter.co/emmausroadpublishing ✈️ Go on a pilgrimage with us: https://stpaulcenter.co/pilgrimages 🔥 Support our mission: https://stpaulcenter.co/donate For Priests: ✨ Every Priest receives a FREE All-Access Membership: https://stpaulcenter.com/priests ⛪️ If you're a Priest looking to attend one of our annual Priest Conferences: https://stpaulcenter.co/priestconferences ___ Follow us on Social Media: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/stpaulcenter Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SaintPaulCenter/ X/Twitter: https://x.com/saintpaulcenter #jesuschrist #scotthahn #theroadtoemmaus #stpaulcenter #robcorzine #bible #covenant #contract #catholicchurch #christianity
Typology is a key to understanding God’s saving plan for mankind. But most people wrongly assume that typology merely means finding Old Testament “types” in New Testament “antitypes.” In this episode of The Road to Emmaus, Dr. Scott Hahn is joined again by Rob Corzine, the Vice President of Academic Programs at the St. Paul Center. Together they discuss the real definition and use of typology. In their conversation, discover the relationship between typology and the four senses of Scripture discussed in the Catechism, how Old Testament authors made deliberate use of typology, and how the early Christians employed it to understand not just Scripture, but the Christian life. Typology is at the heart of the St. Paul Center’s approach to understanding Scripture. This episode will reveal to you how this approach is rooted both in the Old and New Testaments.
In this special episode of The Road to Emmaus, we get a sneak peek into Dr. John Bergsma's podcast, Stunned by Scripture!
