Show Notes

Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded and edited, and it's ready to help you wrap up the week with another dose of nonsense and shenanigans. On this week's episode of Real Life, the guys discussed Tyler's birthday trip to Las Vegas, the football fantasy league, timeless tickets, and the Edmonton Oilers. The guys kicked off this week's episode of Real Life with a conversation about Ron Duguay's passing and his legendary dating list. From there, the guys pivoted to a look at the Norm MacDonald documentary that landed on Netflix this past week, and how he was one of the best to ever do it. Next up, Tyler recapped his surprise trip down to Vegas that his wife planned for his birthday, including ending up in a suite for the Bills game and watching a quarter from field level. Changing gears, the guys looked at the Real Life Fantasy Football League, and how Baggedmilk is apparently ruining the sanctity of the league. Yet, as you'll hear, Baggedmilk is 5-1-0 in the league despite never checking his lineups, which is good for a first place tie. Is BM actually ruining the league or should he get credit for drafting well in the first place? Sticking with sports, the guys spent a few minutes talking about the Timeless Ticket controversy in Milwaukee after the Brewers seemingly changed the rules for how those lifetime passes were used. The guys wrapped up the Thursday episode of Real Life with random collection of topics, starting with a look at Leon Draisaitl being sassy interviews. After being asked if the team changes their style mid-game, Draisaitl's response drew an interesting reaction from the fanbase about whether these guys should be asked tactics questions in the first place. Finally, the podcast wrapped with a run of Beefs of the Week that ranged from Sens fans vs. Brady Tkachuk to Joe Buck and Troy Aikman. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded and edited, and it's ready to help you wrap up the week with another dose of nonsense and shenanigans. On this week's episode of Real Life, the guys discussed the Oilers' three-game winning streak, games behind a paywall, and baseball foul ball etiquette. The guys kicked off this week's episode of Real Life with a recap of the Oilers' three-game winning streak and how the last three games have been a marked change from the season opener. The guys then dug into a tweet Tyler put out on Saturday that highlighted Yaremchuk math in the best possible way. As you'll hear, multiplying games by two points to figure out potential points totals can be trickier than you'd think. From there, the guys spoke about Monday night games being put behind a paywall, and how the NHL seems hell bent on making it as hard as possible to watch. Changing gears, Wanye wanted to talk about the Gavin McKenna ad with Rogers, and whether the league will ever clamp down on players doing deals, especially with rights holders. That led to some of the shady deals that have come out in the NBA over the years, and whether the NHL is just the next league to get caught for shady dealings. That led to Chalmers talking about Jalen Brunson hosting the season premiere of Saturday Night Live, and how it was fun to see an athlete put himself out there like he did. Finally, the guys wrapped up the Thursday episode of Real Life with random collection of topics, starting with Chalmers' history lesson of loving SNL. That led the guys to wonder how much these folks make, and how intense the schedule can be. From there, the guys discussed a baseball controversy after a Dodgers fan who caught a foul ball refused to give it to a young fan from a section over. Lastly, the conversation turned to when it's appropriate to bring a sign to an Oilers game, and if there are any rules for the signs that must be abided by. Hosted on Acast. Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded and edited, and it's ready to help you wrap up the week with another dose of nonsense and shenanigans. Today's podcast had a skeleton crew with only Tyler, Baggedmilk, and Eli, but that didn't stop the fellas from having a good time anyway. The guys kicked off this week's episode of Real Life with a recap of the Oilers' season opener and how great it was to be back at Rogers Place despite the way the game ended. From the construction vests on everyone's seat to the line combos to Tristan Jarry blowing it between the pipes, talking about an Oilers game that mattered was a lot of fun. Needless to say, arguing about the Oilers and having the team ruin your day just kinda felt like home. Changing gears, the guys walked through the Oilers injury woes plaguing the team early this season after it was announced that Zach Hyman will be sidelined for the next two weeks. Despite playing in the season opener on Tuesday, Hyman apparently hurt himself in the final pre-season game of the year, which had everyone wondering why he played against Vancouver. Yet, even with his upper-body injury, Hyman was on the ice during overtime. So, what's the real story there? Only the Hockey Gords know for sure. Finally, the guys wrapped up the Thursday episode of Real Life with a run of topics, starting with news that Tyler's cousin is one of the astronauts en route to the International Space Station. Why has Tyler never admitted to having an astronaut cousin before? Who knows, but Baggedmilk really wants him to land some kind of ONE interview while he's floating around in space. The guys then wrapped up the show with a quick Big Brother recap ahead of Thursday's season finale. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
