Today’s guest is extremely special to me. Lauren Finley Jacob joins me on Mama Fire. Lauren is my friend and sister. Technically, she’s my big brother’s partner and the mother of my first ever nephew. She is also an educator and teacher, healer, herbalist, botanist, has spent over a decade exploring the world of energetic medicine. She's formally trained in ethnobotany and holds a master's degree in philosophy and religion, with a focus on women's spirituality. She is the person I go to when something feels off with my health. She is the person I lean on when I need guidance with my cycle. She is also the person I know who will listen without judgement and always gives the best advice anytime I’m in a hard place. We talk about free birth, her experience as a brand new mom, all things health, choosing a more holistic and spiritual approach to raising children and a whole lot more. Hope you enjoy this one as much as I did!

More from Meant For This
In this conversation, Taylor and I explore the shame many men carry around their sexuality, desires, and emotional world—and how that shame quietly shapes the way they show up in relationships and within themselves. We talk about where this shame comes from, why so many men suppress parts of who they are, and what becomes possible when they finally begin to face those parts with honesty instead of judgment. I hope this conversation offers a perspective that challenges assumptions and maybe helps you see yourself—or someone you love—a little differently.
Sigrid Tasies and I sat down in Austin to talk about the armor we learn to wear as women, the versions of ourselves we keep performing, and what happens when we can’t keep doing it anymore.
In this episode, Taylor and I sit down for an unfiltered Q&A exploring the questions we get asked most often. We talk about desire, fear, relationships, self-trust, regret, and the choices that change the course of our lives. From why men are afraid of their desires to what it actually costs to choose yourself, we share our own experiences, perspectives, and the lessons we've learned along the way.
Why does it feel like men and women are speaking completely different languages in relationships?
Emily and I first met 20 years ago when she began dating a childhood friend of mine. Since then, it feels like many lifetimes have passed—filled with change, growth, and profound transition—as she navigated life after her husband (and my childhood friend) passed.
