Story Transcript:

Ga: Bhí gealbhana sa spéir agus an ghaoth ag séideadh go fíochmhar in aghaidh na n-aillte. En: There were gealbhana in the sky and the wind was fiercely blowing against the cliffs.

Ga: Bhí Aoife agus Cormac ag siúl an cosán caol ag Clocha Mhóthair, áit a raibh am caite acu le chéile fadó. En: Aoife and Cormac were walking the narrow path at Clocha Mhóthair, a place where they had spent time together long ago.

Ga: Tháinig siad anseo gach bliain maidin Samhna fadó, nuair a bhí siad óg agus saor. En: They came here every year on Samhain morning long ago, when they were young and free.

Ga: Ach anois, bhí an saol i bhfad níos casta. En: But now, life was much more complicated.

Ga: D'fhág said rud éigin tábhachtach ina ndiaidh an lá sin i bhfad ó shin, rud nár éirigh leo dearmad a dhéanamh air. En: They had left something important behind that day long ago, something they hadn't been able to forget.

Ga: Ba í an timpiste é, timpiste a bhris a gcairdeas agus a mhill a gcuid laethanta sona. En: It was the accident, an accident that broke their friendship and ruined their happy days.

Ga: Bhí a n-intinn fós dorcha ón eachtra sin. En: Their minds were still shadowed by that event.

Ga: "Tá aithne agat céard atá uaim," a dúirt Aoife go cinniúnach agus í ag breathnú amach ar an bhfarraige foréigeanach, a bhí cosúil le hargóint sa chroí atá déanach a réiteach. En: "You know what I want," said Aoife decisively, looking out at the turbulent sea, which was like an unresolved argument in the heart.

Ga: "Tá a fhios agam, Aoife," a dúirt Cormac go mall, éide a bhród réidh agus a intinn oscailte. En: "I know, Aoife," said Cormac slowly, ready pride in his voice and an open mind.

Ga: "Tháinig mé anseo chun a ghabháil leithscéal. En: "I came here to apologize."

Ga: ""Bhí slán agat a rá ar dtús nuair a bhí sé níos tábhachtaí," a dúirt sí go gruama, ag meabhrú an lá a tharla an timpiste. En: "You should have said goodbye first when it was more important," she said grimly, recalling the day the accident happened.

Ga: Troid idir cairde a bhí ar meisce, an carr caillte smacht. En: A fight between drunk friends, the car lost control.

Ga: Ní féidir rud a dhéanamh arís. En: Nothing can be undone.

Ga: Chuir sé ag cuimhneamh uirthi gurbh é an gaoth a bhí ag séideadh uirthi níos fuaire ná a focail. En: It reminded her that the wind blowing at her was colder than his words.

Ga: Chaith Aoife tamall fada ag iarraidh an fhulaingt a dhíbirt. En: Aoife had spent a long time trying to dispel the suffering.

Ga: Ní raibh éascaíocht faighte aici go fóill. En: She hadn't found ease yet.

Ga: Leis an cogadh a bhí in intinn na beirte acu, d'fhan an tost eatarthu mar scáth. En: With the war raging in their minds, the silence remained between them like a shadow.

Ga: Ba í Aoife a bhris an tost ar deireadh thiar. En: It was Aoife who eventually broke the silence.

Ga: "Cén fáth anois, Cormac? En: "Why now, Cormac?"

Ga: " a d'iarr Aoife, a croí ag preabadh le fearg agus eagla. En: asked Aoife, her heart pounding with anger and fear.

Ga: "Tar éis na mblianta seo ar fad, cén fáth anois? En: "After all these years, why now?"

Ga: ""D'aithin mé nach raibh saoirse agam, go dtí go n-éistfinn leatsa," a thosaigh Cormac, a shúile ag iarraidh gníomhartha na bhfocal a leanúint. En: "I realized I wasn't free until I listened to you," Cormac began, his eyes trying to follow the actions of the words.

Ga: "Ní féidir luach a chur ar mo leithscéal, ach tá sé agam duit. En: "My apology has no value, but I have it for you."

Ga: "Bhí an chuid den chruthú seo ag brú isteach sa gclochán. En: The part of creation was pushing into the stonework.

Ga: Ghlac aoife le go raibh an chuid seo caite. En: Aoife accepted that this part was over.

Ga: "Is é an Samhain inniu," a dúirt sí g
