In this Deepcast episode, Gary Zukav closes The Illusion Series by integrating the illusions of loss, other, objective, evil, and fear. He explains that as we become multisensory, we experience ourselves as immortal souls who voluntarily incarnate into the Earth School, a domain of time, space, matter, and duality. Drawing on quantum physics and the stories of Jesus and Siddhartha, Gary shows why the deepest duality, love and trust versus fear and doubt, is an illusion within an illusion.
Inside the Earth School, fear feels real, and anger, jealousy, and resentment seem to come from the world. Gary explains that the world only activates the frightened and loving parts of our personality, and every choice between them creates consequences. The Earth School is a learning environment, so each consequence offers an opportunity to learn.
Gary's guidance is to see each temptation as a frightened part of your personality showing you what it will do unless you intervene, and to choose love. Each time you do, you move beyond the control of that frightened part of your personality and bring the love that you are into the Earth School.
What You’ll Discover in This Episode:
(03:09) – Why the idea of an "objective" world falls apart, from Newton's admission that he did not know what gravity is to the quantum discovery that the world depends on how we choose to experience it.
(09:02) – How love can be all that is real when we still choose between love and fear, and why in the new consciousness, you see it once you believe it.
(12:49) – The Earth School as a learning environment where immortal souls incarnate, and why the painful parts of your life point directly to the parts of your personality that keep you from loving.
(15:51) – The two ways to learn wisdom, through fear and doubt or through love and trust, and how every intention infuses its quality of consciousness into your words and deeds.
(22:09) – Temptation as the gracious mechanism of transformation in the stories of Jesus and Siddhartha, and what it means for you to be fully divine and fully human at the same time.
(25:34) – The purpose of the Earth School: to learn love, share love, teach love, and become the love you are.

What consequences will I create? What would love choose? Each night, note in your soul notebook what in this episode resonated and what didn't. At week's end, review your entries to see what is real for you and what is illusion.

Every day brings a choice between two ways of living: one rooted in gratitude and contentment, the other in anger and despair. In this Soul Snack, Gary Zukav explains what comes after emotional awareness, once a painful or pleasing sensation has been noticed near an energy processing center like the throat, chest, or solar plexus.
In this Deepcast episode, Gary Zukav takes on one of humanity's oldest fears: the idea that evil is a force loose in the world, something separate from us that can attack, tempt, or possess us. He traces this belief back through Christianity and Buddhism, both built on the story of a young man (Jesus, Siddhartha) who faced temptation on his path to a higher state of being. In the old consciousness, that temptation gets treated as an outside enemy, an independently existing evil that only an institution like the church can help you defeat. Gary argues this framing has always been a trap, one that keeps people dependent and afraid instead of powerful.
In this Soul Snack, Gary Zukav goes after the frightened parts of the personality that convince people they are invisible and without impact. His answer is that this feeling is never actually true, it's only ever a perception, and he traces it back to a Buddhist saying that puzzled him for decades: the river of suffering is deep and wide, a turn of the head is the other side.
