Coming to Where You Are, with Frans Sandbergen on The Living Process, with Greg Madison Episode 46.

Frans is a very engaging story-teller, weaving together his own life with discovering Focusing and then working with Gene Gendlin for 12 years. In speaking with Gene and Nada Lou, Frans used a TAE process to describe the reality of the imaginary world of ‘Marfrano’ and how it helps people to discover their deeper direction in life. Frans developed terms like ‘the university that you are’, ‘the theory of coming to where you are (Theory M), the importance of ‘following the smiling thought’, the difference between ‘the real world and the formal world’, and how to find one’s ‘inner profession’. In developing the ‘art of getting lost’, Frans offers an intriguing example of Focusing as a creative change process. His book, Het Wil, is hopefully arriving in English soon. Using his model, he works with organisational groups and individuals offering listening communities called métier guilds and one-to-one sessions called ‘Cartographic Conversations’.

Kati kimchi. Episode 55. The Source of Sexual Healing. In this episode we discuss the mysterious absence of sexuality in the writing and teaching of Focusing and other embodied and contemplative practices. We speak about how to safely integrate these discussions into teaching, practice, and therapy. We touch on the deeply ambivalent relationship we have with sexual desire: on the one hand, we long to feel connected to it, and on the other, we are often afraid of its intensity and the fire it can awaken. We question what 'healthy sexuality' is and how to deal with erotic feelings in therapy. The Self-Sensing of Life with Peter Cheung On The Living Process Episode 54. Host Greg Madison

Episode 53 of The Living ProcessMay I Exist - First Experiential-Existential Study Day University of Leuven, Belgium. April 24, 2926.Panel Members: Evi Van Mierlo, Sofie Verdegem, Siebrecht Vanhooren and Greg Madison, hosted by: Ruth Marien. Day chaired by: Claude Missiaen. For me, Greg, it is odd to have a long-standing passion for this unique form of psychotherapy and to always feel like an existentialist at Focusing events and as a Focuser at existential events, never quite belonging to either world …. Chatting with Siebrecht many years ago at a conference, I found I finally had a fellow-traveller, and under his direction, now a whole Centre dedicated to this particular instance of FOT (Focusing Oriented Therapy). But of course Experiential-Existential Psychotherapy did not start with us. There were always a handful of therapists who cared about the spirit of existentialism in Gendlin's work and the need for experiential practice in existential therapy. We honour the wonderful work of Mia Leijssen, Germain Lietaer, and Les Todres as well as our close cousins in the world of person-centred counselling and existential-phenomenological therapy.
