Matt Field has been a professional drifter for over a decade. His journey started long before that and we talk about his origins, current struggles, and his future. Matt started like most of us in the early days, with a Nissan, you’ll see which one. Matt is an example of what it looks like to go from having fun as a kid to creating a legacy in drifting. He has progressed not only his driving but his builds and now runs the Drift Cave which is Northern California’s premiere drift shop. Matt has two back to back 2nd place finishes in the Formula Drift season and will continue his fight to be the series champion. More from The Goodest Cast - Hangout with the Drift Community
Jamo is Drift Team Animal Style’s newest member, his driving style, car style, and presence made that an easy choice. For someone so young to not only be driving but building cars at the level he is there is no excuse other than dedication. We talk about the struggles of trusting the wrong head gasket and SR20DET issues that no one wants to have. Jamo is just getting started but it was great to sit down and hear his story so far. We couldn’t be more excited to see where his story goes.
Reese Marin is the newest Formula Drift judge, but that does not mean he’s new to drifting. Resse has been around drifting for decades. This man lives and breathes the sport, as a driver, as a coach, as a judge, and as a spotter. He is passionate about what makes drifting cool to him and is an advocate for keeping drifting both fun and hardcore.
Jack is another example of the uniquely great people you meet through drifting. He and his team mates from Hit and Run Drift Club really made drifting fun. They created iconic videos with the help of Scott Mitchell that made waves in the drift world. Their stuff really inspired me when I was getting into drifting. It was all just friends having fun and building cool cars to go shred with, rowdy trips to Japan that looked like a dream. It was something to aspire to. They still run their event called Glory Days in Australia, and Jack has been branching out and exploring drifting in a very different way in some unexpected places.
Jimmy Oakes is a Connecticut based car builder, BMXer, and driver. He also hosts a Youtube channel covering all his car builds and trips driving all over the world. Jimmy is also a part of Front Street Drift Team, which is one of the premiere drift teams in the US known for their clean S Chassis builds and aggressive driving style. Over my time getting to know Jimmy it is obvious this man lives and breathes drifting. The level of his chase driving skill shows that and is proof BMX kids pick up drifting quickly.
Gregg Bucell joins us again to talk about life after Koruworks, where to get them, and his new unlocked achievements in drifting. We did a Q&A as well which is always a good time with Gregg, he’s a great story teller and always one entertaining dude. Gregg is always good for a laugh and a hot take so buckle up.
