Don't dog your mates | Tommy Herschell on building your "pit crew" & the mates who saved him
Dyl & FriendsShow Notes
This week I'm joined by Tommy Herschell, founder of Find Ya Feet and one of the great storytellers .
Tommy has spent years helping young people, sporting clubs and workplaces have better conversations around mental health, vulnerability and looking after the people around us.
It's a funny, honest and powerful chat that starts with me trying to understand Tommy's slang and hopefully ends with you putting in that phone call to your mate.
We talk:
What Find Ya Feet is all about
Why Tommy lives by the motto "Don't dog your mates"
The mates who changed Tommy's life and became part of his "pit crew"
Whether your therapist should be treated like a mechanic or a panel beater
Stories and lessons from Tommy's workshops around Australia
Life as a "chalkie" before Find Ya Feet
Why making the call to a mate can change everything
The power of vulnerability and showing up for the people around you
A heads up, this episode discusses some heavy topics, including domestic violence and suicide. Please look after yourself while listening.

Brendon Goddard was the No.1 pick set to join Carlton, until the Blues lost their draft picks and he landed at St Kilda. He became one of the Saints’ most important players, played in the crushing 2009 and 2010 Grand Finals losses, then became the first AFL free agent when he left for Essendon... just months before the infamous supplements saga began.
Travis Cloke won a premiership with Collingwood and became one of the AFL's most recognisable key forwards. But after controversially leaving the Magpies for the Western Bulldogs in 2016, his career came to an end out of nowhere… at just age 30.
Claudia Hollingsworth went to the Olympics at just 19.
Richard Baker, one of Australia's leading investigative journalists, returns to Dyl & Friends for a deep dive into cold cases, conspiracy theories and some of Australia's biggest unsolved mysteries.
