If you have been parentified as a child you might still be hurting and you shouldn’t have to suffer today because of the toxic family dynamic in your past. Parentification is a toxic family dynamic, common when dealing with narcissistic mothers or with emotionally immature mothers or parents, that puts too much responsibility on the child way too soon inevitably creating childhood trauma. And despite all that you may have achieved so far in your life, you might still be hurting inside. Patterns such as people-pleasing, perfectionism, extra independence and inability to take a break or delegate will hold you back in every aspect of your life, including your career, relationships, parenting… And in the long run they will also affect your physical and mental health.
