On any given day, the choices we make barely move the needle of our spiritual, physical, or emotional health. Missing your morning Bible reading won't derail your spiritual life. Skipping the gym won't ruin your physical health. But when you zoom out and look at your year, the patterns and habits that emerge over a longer period of time will tell a story of the person you're becoming. Often it's the same excuse for why we let important practices go - "I don't have time to ______" (fill in the blank). Pray. Read. Go to the gym. Eat a home cooked meal. Rather than saying we don't have time, we need to say "I haven't made it a priority." It's not until we take ownership of what we're actively saying yes to that we're able to take steps toward making a meaningful change.

Often, when people want to change, they make the mistake of trying to change rather than training for change. You won't drift toward Christlikeness. In this episode, we look at why spiritual transformation isn't something that passively happens to you over time — it's something you train for, the same way the Bible describes the discipline of an athlete in training. The way that a professional athlete might train their body to move or react a certain way, we can train our bodies to react in a way that is consistent with the character of Christ by establishing new habits.
