Scryer's Room Ep. 126: Bioware, Virgin Boy Eggs, and Cyberpunk

BioWare's decline is a central theme in a recent discussion among gaming enthusiasts, reflecting on the studio's past successes and current state. The last game widely regarded as good from BioWare is "Mass Effect 2," released in 2010, with subsequent titles like "Dragon Age 2" and "Inquisition" receiving mixed reviews. The conversation highlights the confusion surrounding the "Dragon Age" series' numbering and the frustrations with the studio's direction, particularly with the poorly received "Anthem."

The hosts recount personal experiences with BioWare games, sharing anecdotes about character creation mishaps and gameplay frustrations. They express disappointment in the studio's recent output, suggesting that the once-revered developer has lost its touch. The discussion also touches on the broader gaming landscape, including the rise of other franchises and the challenges faced by established studios in maintaining relevance.

In a lighter vein, the hosts share humorous stories about their gaming experiences, including a comedic take on the absurdity of game mechanics and character design. The conversation concludes with a nod to the nostalgia of gaming's past while lamenting the current state of beloved franchises.
