Survival Dispatch Remnant

Special Annoucement From The Creator Of REMNANT

Survival Dispatch Remnant

Show Notes

REMNANT Is Expanding If you're looking for Episode 11 and wondering why it hasn't appeared in your podcast feed yet, nothing is wrong. Starting now, Survival Dispatch Remnant is moving to a subscriber-first release schedule. Episode 11 is already available for paid subscribers at SurvivalDispatchRemnant.com. One week later, that same episode will be released publicly through Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, Podcast Addict, and every other major podcast platform. That means paid subscribers get every episode first, while public listeners receive it one week later. ## Why I'm Making This Change Before Episode One ever launched, I had already written 104 complete episodes. Not outlines. Not concepts. Complete episodes. I knew where this story started, where it was going, and how it unfolded long before the first episode aired. What I didn't know was how strongly people would connect with it. The first ten episodes did exactly what they were supposed to do. They introduced the Smith family, Camp Ridge, the Black Vultures, and the world these characters now inhabit. Nothing about those episodes changes. Nothing is being rewritten. They remain the foundation for everything that comes next. ## What's Changing Starting next weekend, every new Remnant episode will be expanded and released across the weekend in two parts. Part One and Part Two are not separate episodes. They are a single expanded episode released across one weekend. Part One releases Saturday at noon Eastern for paid subscribers. Part Two releases Sunday at noon Eastern for paid subscribers. One week later, those same installments release publicly through the podcast feed on Saturday and Sunday evenings. This is not a temporary experiment. This is the format moving forward. ## The Story Is Just Getting Started As I looked ahead at the story already written, it became obvious that what is coming is much larger than what you've heard so far. The world gets bigger. The threats get bigger. The stakes get higher. The consequences become heavier. And the story deserves more room to breathe. Because what you've heard so far is only the beginning. Camp Ridge is not the destination. The Black Vultures are not the full threat. Several of the most important storylines are only beginning to reveal themselves. After writing 104 episodes before launch, I can tell you with complete confidence that the best parts of this story are still ahead of us. ## What Paid Subscribers Receive Paid subscribers receive immediate access to every new episode one week before the public release. They also receive companion articles that expand the story beyond what you hear in the audio drama. In addition, paid subscribers receive invitations to the Remnant Roundtable webinars where we discuss the story, the characters, major decisions, and the future direction of the series. Because those conversations happen while the larger story is still unfolding, subscribers will have opportunities to influence parts of the story as it develops. Remnant has always been more than an audio drama. It's a community. And paid subscribers are helping build that community alongside me. If you'd like immediate access to Episode 11, every future episode one week early, the companion articles, and invitations to the Remnant Roundtable webinars, subscribe today at SurvivalDispatchRemnant.com. The best parts of this story are still ahead of us. Godspeed, Chris Heaven CEO, Survival Dispatch

The service station has no roof on the pump island anymore, and there is somebody lying inside it who is still breathing. The Smith family came up on the place from the west road with thirty rounds between them, nothing to eat, a dog on a litter, and their names already in a book they left behind at the river. They were looking for water and a wall. What they found was a wounded stranger on the floor and a sheet of paper she would not let go of until somebody promised her something. The paper is a map. Hand-drawn, marked in a hurry, streaked with the blood of the person who carried it. It shows a way west around the controlled roads the family has been paying to use since Camp Ridge fell. It is the first good news anybody has handed them in weeks, and nobody in this county hands a family good news for free. Mark makes the promise. The map changes hands. And Emily, twelve years old with a survey book in her coat, reads the ink the way she once read crows over a ridge, and finds something on it that nobody meant her to find. A map can save your life, or lead you exactly where somebody wants you to end up. This week the family has to decide which one it is holding, with the light going and nobody left to ask. Subscribers also get the companion article that expands the story beyond what the audio carries, plus access to the community where Guardians work through what each episode means for their own families. Everyone else waits until 700pm ET. Subscribe HERE — don't wait on the story that's already being told.

The pencil has stopped on the page, and thirty people are standing in the cold to watch what happens next. The Smith family made it across the river. That was supposed to be the hard part. Now they are inside the River Wardens' settlement, under a barn lantern, in front of a table with an open book on it, and the man behind the book has just heard their name and looked up at Jonah Pike instead of writing it down. Two Wardens stand a step from Jake. The rifles are not slung anymore. There is a price for crossing this river, and it turns out the price was never the water. The Wardens take the guns and the ammunition. Then they want more than that. They want the family to stand in front of their people and do as they are told, and they want everything about them written down. Who they are. What they can do. Whether anybody is looking for them. Mark Smith has watched a camp perform blindness for a rifle, and he knows a thing done for show when he is standing in one. He pays with performance, not pride. Jake wants to push the table. Sarah is looking at the book, and she has seen a book laid out that way before. What the family gives up to get through the test, and what the book is really for, is the whole of this episode.Remnant drops Saturdays and Sundays at 1200pm ET for paying subscribers — seven hours before the public feed. The road west runs out at a river that has come up over its banks, and there are men on the far side of it with rifles. Not a mob and not the county. Men with posts and rules and a line drawn across the only way through, standing on it like people who own the ground. The Smith family came down the abandoned county road expecting a washed-out bridge and empty country. What they find is the first organized thing they have met since the walls came down, and it is not offering help. Season Two of Survival Dispatch Remnant opens here. Camp Ridge is behind them and burning. The country ahead does not belong to them. A river in flood is a wall with one door in it, and the men at that door have decided the water is theirs and the crossing has a price. Mark Smith has a family, a few rifles, and supplies that will not last a long argument. The men across the water have time. Talk, and give up something the family cannot spare. Bluff, and bet his children on strangers. Turn back, and walk away from the only road west. Every door is bad, and somebody is going to set a price for that crossing before the water goes down.
