Today's My Birthday :) Episode 52 marks the final chapter of Reggaeton Con La Gata’s first season—a full-circle moment titled Reflecting in Rocketón & 3:33. Centered around the release of my debut EP 3:33, this episode is both a sonic and personal reckoning. I dive into rock as counterculture—its rebellion, its edge, its refusal to conform—and trace its echoes within reggaeton’s own disruptive history. From distortion to dembow, I unpack how these worlds collide to shape Rocketón, the genre at the heart of this project. This is also a deep reflection: on the journey of building this platform, on the stories I’ve told, and on the shift from documenting culture to actively creating within it. I break down the intention behind my songs, the energy of 3:33, and what it means to step into this next era as an artist. A closing(for now), an arrival, and a declaration—all at once. A superstar in the making sits down with La Gata—and nothing is off limits. In this episode, Lenexx pulls up repping Queens NYC and Santiago RD, bringing her fearless, genre-bending vision to the table. From blending Brazilian funk with reggaeton to building a sound rooted in real life, she opens up about the journey behind her breakout moment with “Vulnerable,” the cultural influences shaping her artistry, and the power of moving off instinct instead of overthinking. The conversation dives deep: identity, Afro-Latinidad, beauty standards, and the generational shifts she’s navigating as a proud Dominicana. Lenexx reflects on growing up between DR and New York, how community shaped her, and why staying authentic—down to filming videos with her cousins back home—is her biggest strength. La Gata and Lenexx also get into the realities of the industry: being a young independent artist, protecting your energy, and what it means to be a woman claiming space in music today. From studio respect to spiritual grounding, Lenexx keeps it honest about what it takes to stay centered while everything is moving fast. Plus, she teases her upcoming project—hinting at more “funketón” and "funkchata" bold fusions, and global collaborations—and shares her dream of continuing to bridge Brazil, the Caribbean, and beyond. This is a conversation about culture, courage, and carving your own lane—no matter who’s watching.
