Ep. 11 - THE REAL LOLITA: The Abduction of Sally Horner

Today’s case is covering the tragic story of the REAL Lolita, the kidnapping and abduction of 11-year-old Sally Horner in Camden, New Jersey, in 1948.

Inspired by Sarah Weinman's incredible work bringing this story to light, this video covers the Sally Horner kidnapping, how Vladimir Nabokov used this story as inspiration for his classic novel Lolita, and how the Lolita narrative has become twisted and romanticised in popular culture.

If you’re interested in true crime documentary, the Sally horner movie, the crimes of Frank La Salle, true crime YouTubers, and an analysis of Lolita...

Then this episode is for you.

I HIGHLY recommend checking out Jordan Theresa’s video on the romanticisation of Lolita: https://youtu.be/knFkXJ5zdXM
