⚡️MENOPUNKS PODCAST ⚡️

Show Notes

⚡️In this episode Alicia talks to the wonderful Debora Iyall - Indigenous vocalist/poet and driving force behind 80’s new wave legends Romeo Void.

With groundbreaking feminist hits like “Never Say Never” and “A Girl In Trouble” Debora influenced countless GENX (and beyond) fans and musicians with her brash, confident voice and “give no fux” attitude as a rare full bodied woman of color at the inception of the MTV era.

We get into her wild musical history, the importance of chemistry in collaboration, channeling defiance and rage into art, her hysterectomy/hormonal journey, her relentless activism, finding inner peace through creative expression and so much more.

It was a joy to get to know Debora a little after being a fan since the early 80’s and srsly fascinating to hear why Romeo Void got shafted at the height of their popularity. HUGS D YR TRULY THE COOLEST!🤘😍🤘⚡️

👏💥Snag a copy of Romeo Void’s limited double LP “Live 81-85” - their 🔥 songs captured at the height of their career lovingly curated and remastered - being released this week for Record store day!💥🤘👏❤️
